Does he deserve the respect and plaudits that he and Floyd Snr think? His fight with Campbell seems to have slightly slipped under the radar. I'm a fan of Guzman and I love his style. And even though he's 32 he's got a good 4-5 years in him if stays fit and healthy. I think he beats Campbell and Guzman goes on to great things, I reckon he can dominate the lightweight division.
Guzman is a great fighter, and he has the ability to unify at 135lb, but so do so many other fighters in the division. Juan Manuel Marquez, Manny Pacquiao, and Casamayor all pose a threat. It is a competitive division, and I am excited to see who will prevail as the overall man at lightweight.
He is a little small for 135 and is not quite young either, this fight with Campbell will either make him or break him
Yeah, I think great times lie ahead at 135lb. But Pacman wont go back to lightweight after DLH. He'll go to 140lb and JMM will chase him for that third fight which I reckon will be Pacman's last fight since his most recent statement "three more fights and I'm done". Wonder if Gamboa v Guzman is a future possiblity?
Love his slick style and definitely think he can be a success at 135. As already mentioned there are a lot of great fighters in what is at the moment the most competitive division. A win against Campbell would do a lot for his appeal and lead to alot of big fights. Tough fight for him though. I think he just nicks a split over Campbell. Then he can fight the winner of JMM and Casa. Would be another very tough fifty fifty match-exactly the kind that boxing needs. Very exciting times ahead for the 135 division.
