Solid career to be proud of. Killed himself to make the weight but his style of fighting hinged a lot on his height and reach advantages so u can understand him not wanting to give ground on his advantages. Not a big ticket seller and down in the lower weights went towards him not been a household name it at the time when Hearn was building his world championship stable he will of done all right for his purses, considering what he brought to the table. I enjoyed watching him at his peak and although I'm not sure, I think he's retired now. All the best to him
Funny thing I found a about him. He has this persona he wasn’t really a boxing man or boxing fan. I watched an interview once where he basically says he didn’t care for boxing, he just taught cause he fell into it didn’t know anything about past greats or anything like that Anyone know this or can elaborate on it?
yeah all he was bothered about was how much he was getting paid. He didn't follow current or past boxing. Ive heard Gary Russell Jr is the same.
