First, The ref was way to quick on taking away the first point for pushing. Second, why the **** did Khan keep pushing after the first point deduction and more warnings? Third, How did one judge give it to Khan 114-111 (i think that was the score) with the 2 point deductions? That would mean he only gave Peterson 3 rounds? I agree with the 2 judges that gave it 113-112 for Peterson, though I believe the first point deduction was BS. PS. I was rooting for Khan to win. PSS. Khan, imo, has moved out the glass jaw section to the regular jaw section.
Being fast as hell means not a whole lot when you have many flaws. It may look flashy and entertaining, but for any fighter that can adapt to the speed, they have a chance. As I wrote in another post, Khan is in the same category with every fighter in 147 and 140 besides Manny and Floyd. Manny wasn't too sharp in his last fight, but I think he still gets the benefit of the doubt. I don't think the fight was a robbery at all. It was close and either side could have won with or without the point deductions. He got the 1 point taken away early so should have made sure not to do it again.
I think 1 point deduction was fair, which on my card would have made the score 113-113. It was a close fight, and i don't think it was a robbery at all, Khan kept pushing knowing he could lose another point. If anything i think the card that had Khan winning was off.
The ref should have called a time out and warned him, but khan was stupid and should have stopped pushing after the first deduction.
1 thing that was missed last night by bias ass HBO is that Kahn tripped Peterson in the first and got credited with the KD, With out deductions I had it a draw as each guy won 6 a piece, this fight was just proof that Kahn was NEVER a legit threat to PBF.
Its their failure to accept what happened that got to me. We saw the ref take the 2 points, but that was more of the issue to them. At the end of the day, these 2 guys put up a great fight. They gave Peterson some props I guess, but it was the ref actions that have gotten more press time. I've heard HBO been biased at times, but they acted like Khan was their f'n son and wanted to stand up for him...like they were all going to get bonuses if Khan was to win.
He pushed with an elbow and forearm the 1st time pretty worthy of a deduction second time he also punched Petersen on the break after the push so he shoulda been docked for one of the 2
