I gotta be honest I don't think there will be a lot of action in this fight. That being said I'm not sure if I've been more interested in a fight that I believe will be very tactical. I actually can't wait to see it. I really have no clue who is gonna win if I had to bet I would put my loot on loma, however I wouldn't be shocked at all if rigo dominated. It could be close and it could be a one sided Fight for either guy. I'd love to hear what you guys think who will win + am I wrong is this fight gonna be close and exciting, action wise??
Lomo been active and looking great against some top opponents. Rigo hasn't faced a top opponent in quite some years now, hasn't been active pretty much ever, is at least the 37 years old he claims to be, and is moving up 2 divisions for this fight. You're kind of foolish if you think Rigo wins this one from where I sit, honestly.
I'm ready for this fight. I agree about it probably not being an action packed fight, but the tension in the air is gonna be thick. The few exchanges that they do engage in will be something else. 2 time gold medalist vs 2 time gold medalist. Plus great. I'm leaning towards Loma cause of the size advantage, but Rigo has some skills. I hope it's a great fight.
I said I would bet loma. For the reasons you stated mainly the age factor. I just feel like Cuban fighters always surprise me.
The odds dictate If a fight will be more action packed than I expected? I know who is favored to win and I said I would bet loma.
I should be clear I would be pretty surprised if rigo "dominated" but not if he won a clear UD. I see how it reads now I kind of didn't mean it like that.
A 37 year old super bantamweight moving up two weight classes to fight one of the most gifted boxers to lace up a pair of gloves...who is in his prime. This will be one sided.
I doubt it... Rigo though not as active as Loma will present a tougher than expected task, simply because he's still a fresh 37 year old who hasn't taken very much punishment in his pro career, so ring rust I don't think will be a factor. That said I still think Loma wins a decision.
I know I hope it's a good one, like you said multiple gold medals for each guy and all their individual success makes me pumped to see it go down.
Rigo out skilled Donaire. Walter KOed Donaire. Loma outclassed and make Walter quit. Triangle theory doesn't work, I don't know what I'm talking about. But I think Loma will win.
This is a purist's fight. The fourth and fifth most skilled boxers in the world met a couple of weeks ago and the fight did not disappoint (even if the judges got it wrong !) This will be the first and second most skilled boxers meeting, so look for some nice boxing. It may have a slow and tactical start but expect lots of action by the mid rounds. This has the potential to be the best fight of the year, at least as far as a showcasing of skills goes. The winner (if clear and fair) will be the number one in the sport.
This content is protected This content is protected Lomachenko, a complete blend of offense and defense. The stacks are against Rigo. Loma is younger, bigger, more active with probably better skills, stamina and chin.
I think Lomachenko's angles, foot work, size, youth, speed, etc. will win him the fight, but Roc Nation will probably, at least, try to buy off the judges, referee, boxing commission, etc., like Rigo's last fight when he held and hit, then clearly well after the bell hit his opponent with a left hook. Bob Bennett lied about it live on HBO while he was watching the fight, then claimed that the HBO video man said that the punch was before the bell, HBO gave Bennett an ear piece so he could hear the bell, he claimed he could not hear, but HBO told Bennett that their video man told them that he did not tell him the punch was after the bell, it was well before! Later the decision was changed to NC, whatever. Bob Bennett is a proven liar, it's right there on the video, yes, the same person that claims that Byrd is the best judge in the world...................tried to say that all her scoring was great for years, when the reporter told him that this was not her first time at bad scoring. Again, watch out for Roc Nation, hope they can't buy off the boxing officials. I think the fight will be in MSG, NY, not Vegas, I think Lomachenko knows better, he learned from the Kovalev fights and Golovkin/El Pollo..............
