I'd rank all four of them plus Sturm ahead of him at this moment. But I think there are a few more fighters who would beat him if they met

Yes but he is more proven then them, which means he is ranked higher.

Too say he's nowhere near pushing top 5 is ludicrous, the lowest he could be is 6 IMO.

Yes I didn't deny that, I just think there is a big gap between 5-6. I know he pushed Sturm close but that was one fight and Sturm has proven much more so I'd rank him considerably higher

6 is not the lowest you could realistically rank Quillan, Pirog, Murray, N'Jikam higher

Quillin has fought nobodies, so has Pirog and N'ghikam, Murray was convincly beaten by Sturm.

Who has Macklin beat that is any better than what Qullin, Pirog or N'jikham have beat? Murray wasn't convincingly beaten it was a close fight that could have went either way, I had it for Sturm by a few but I can see an arguament for Murray getting the decision

he would destroy barker for a start.murray is massively over rated as well..be some bigger fights out there 4 him if he could drop down a weight

I have a feeling HBO will feed him to Golovkin

    Macklin would execute Murray.

How the fight with Sturm was scored a draw I'll never know. Sturm landed the better, harder punches throughout the fight and dictated the majority of the action.

Macklin on the other hand gave Sturm a very rough ride and was unfortunate not to get a draw at worst.

:-( Sturm CLEARLY won that fight, Sturm landed clean shots all the way through and was the agressor, Murray landed pitter patter shots.

Macklin beat Sturm IMO, gave a better effort then all the current Middleweights have against Sergio and demolished Alcine (not a great fighter, but decent non the less) Macklin has much stronger claims to be ranked above the likes of N'jikam, Pirog and Quillin.

It wasn't clear like I said I felt he did enough but Sturm was very lazy in a few rounds which could have lost him a few rounds he didn't need to.
IMO Sturm won a very tight decision, he was good for a few rounds against Sergio but still got KO'd so it isn't that impressive tbh. Alcine isn't much cop tbh but the fashion Macklin won was impressive

I know Macklin is a very tough fighter, not knocking him but just dont see him as a world champion.Regarding Martinez I think Golovkin is and will be a better world champion .I
take your point about the rewards but still dont think our lads will fight him.Two have had chances with Martinez and lost.
Youve got me when you asked me who Murrays stopped. Its just that to me he looks a strong fighter.I could ask the same question about Matthew at world class.Yes,I agree
weve got 3 good top ten men but champions?

PS regarding steering clear of Golovkin obviously if the money was right theyd surely take
it.Just think theyd go for other options if they cropped up or possibly their management
    would.
