Thoughts on Mayweather vs Alexander

    Im not a big Alexander fan and i thought this fight would be a joke but after seeing how mobile and defensive Floyd was vs Guerrero, i dont think anyone without very quick hands even stands a chance vs Mayweather.

    And i still think youre better off boxing and circling, making Floyd lead than to pressure him. Guerrero didnt even attempt to step back and let Floyd come to him. Im not saying the outcome would have been different but my initial prediction was that Guerrero would draw Floyd in and that he'd have to walk Guerrero down.

    Maybe someone like Alexander who is quick with his hands and feet will have success jabbing and moving and making Floyd come to him. He's a natural southpaw who can use both hands well but i dont feel hes a very smart fighter or is able to make adjustments. He simply does more of the same and uses his speed and combinations to fend off an attack and he also gets hit with the right hand a lot. He does have heart and a good chin tho.

    Not saying he'd win but it might actually be a good fight.

    preferred this to Guerrero when this was being negotiated

    when its all said and dine would Alexander have the ability to fight such a perfect fight or would he get over anxious

    Alexander quit in his biggest fight. This would be a stylistic nightmare for the fans.

    No thanks. Only if Alexander gets 2-3 big wins in the future and even then the fight will look like crap in the ring.

    I actually wanted to see him fight Alexander over Guerrero. It would have been a harder fight for PBF based on styles. With that said I think PBF would still beat him.

    Alexander is fast but he doesn't seem to vary the punches up much and I think Floyd would get the timing down in the early rounds for a clear win. I felt Kotelnik out boxed Alexander, the fight was close but that was mainly down to Alexanders workrate but a lot weren't landing cleanly.

    I just dont see anyone else out there who has a chance other than Canelo who has some stamina issues to address, plus hes slow on his feet. Alexanders speed and boxing ability seem more favorable over any of the 140 lb fighters.

    Champion vs Champion

    Alexander has very good wins, he beat the boogy man Mathysse and has only lost to another WW champ, Bradley. In a fight where Bradleys best punches were with his head.:lol:

    This fight needs to happen. Its like people dont want Floyd to fight another AA fighter whos a champ at his weight class.:rofl

    I want to see Provodnikov vs Mayweather. Yes it's crazy, but at least the guy hits like a mule and could create some intrigue for a few rounds.

    Floyd needs to unify the titles at WW, Alexander is more proven than Canelo but doesn thave the fan base but Mayweather fighting anyone would sell over a million ppvs and thats all that matters to Floyd. Look at how much attention Mayweather-Guerrero got and Alexander is more well known and more accomplished than Guerrero and hes a better boxer and he hold a major WW title.
