I hope Mike pulls this off and knocks out this clown, but I'm afraid he will get knocked out BRUTALLY himself.
People are sleeping on the fact Tyson is a real heavyweight and HAS ALWAYS BEEN one. This content is protected This guy beat Jake Paul. Look at the kind of guys Tommy and Jake are fighting, undersized MMA fighters. Now imagine Mike Tyson charging in on Tommy Fury and not this little guy.. lol Mike is bigger and more skilled than anyone Jake has fought.. BY A MILE. https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/912383 Lets run down his list of opponents... Mike Perry has fought as low as 155 lbs.. Mainly a 170 lber. 0-2 (2 KO losses) record in boxing. Ryan Bourland has fought as low as 170 lbs. Has 6 KOs in 17 wins (not a puncher). Andre August has fought as low as 165 lbs. Has 5 KOs in 10 wins (not a puncher) and has been knocked out by someone who was 3-3. Nate Diaz has fought as low as 155 lbs, mainly been a 170 lber. Has a 1-1 record in boxing and is not a puncher. Tommy Fury has mostly fought around the 180 lbs range, has 4 KOs in 10 wins (not a puncher) and has not beaten anyone of note. Anderson Silva has mostly fought at 185 lbs, was 3-1 with 1 KO win. Decent power. Tyron Woodley has mostly fought at 170 lbs, was 0-0 but known as a puncher in MMA. Can you see now? Mike Tyson at 58 can punch like a mule and has always been 215 lbs + in weight/size. The more I look into it, the most hope I have for Mike.
The haters are all over the place Still on suicide watch out of fear of The Jakeover Jake's a bum Jake hasn't beaten anyone Jake is just fighting MMA fighters He's going to get sparked when he fights a real boxer who can punch vs 265lb UFC HW king and athletic phenom and savage puncher This content is protected vs 360lb The Strongest Man in the World This content is protected Remind me again which of them got knocked down when Jake fought Tommy? But they're crucifying him for fighting arguably the HW H2H GOAT and one of the greatest HWs and most murderous punchers of all time in just his 12th pro fight, 13th fight ever, and millions of fans are picking him to spark Jake out cold These same people will argue that the fighters of today are soft compared the ones of yesteryear and previous generations Who did Mike fight in his 12th pro fight? Jake has been fighting MMA GOATs, MMA legends, multiple time world champs, Golden Glove champion boxers and former #2 amateurs in the US, the brother of the 2nd best HW of this generation, and now he's fighting ATG Mike Tyson Jake's brother fought TBE Floyd Mayweather in just his 2nd pro fight with no amateur career Sugar ''Money'' Mac literally fought Floyd in his pro debut Ngannou fought HW champ Tyson Fury and former unified HW champ AJ in his 1st and 2nd pro fights respectively with no amateur fights But the fighters of today are ''soft''?
It won’t be a real fight. Just hard sparring. but, I mean, Tyson is a real fighter with big power, a ton of experience, and muscle memory. Always a chance he accidentally throws a full power check hook or something, without thinking about it.
The threads here because it is boxing. Yes, your “prestigious” and “honorable” sport now includes a “youtuber”…..(lol) Jake Paul is more of a fighter than 98% of this forum will ever be, so get the sticks out of your ass and enjoy the show and support past greats like Tyson getting a huge pay day, that no “boxing historian” has ever helped him get, or shut up…. It’s entertainment people, if you don’t like it, watch something else….
I honestly think it was scripted. I don't know but that's how feel. After watching both of them their training and preparations, I think Mike should have won. I know he is old and endurance could be a factor but he is by far better and was the most fave to win. I recently also cam across a video that opened my eyes on it and actually made me understand what happened. This content is protected
Interesting. I also came across a similar video sometime ago. I was shocked This content is protected
In all honesty I think Mike pulled his shots and in return Jake did not push the issue. First round Tyson was landing and Jake looked suprised especially when Tyson snapped his head back with the jab. Tyson gets Paul on the ropes and Paul clearly says something to Tyson and Tyson acknowledges it because he taps Paul on the head. What was said I do not know but I know it seemed like Mike all the sudden calmed down and really just stopped fighting. And since Paul is not very skilled enough to make it look good the fight got very sloppy.
Jake Paul is doing nothing special and anybody with even the smallest window of skill could easily do what Jake does so spare the Jake is skilled bit. I am not going to drop names but at the gym I used to box at we had a bunch of pros and in particular we had 2 at the same weight class. One was a slick southpaw who could never really get bouts because of his style. The other was a crowd pleasing slugger who had a pretty good punch and decent boxing skills. The two would spar all the time and the southpaw would literally beat the hell out of the slugger. But when it came time to get fights the southpaw always had to beg to be put on the card while the slugger easily got fights. Well the slugger met someone who had a great deal of money and they took an interest in the sluggers career. So this person started putting on cards with the slugger headlining and when I tell you the opponents they brought in to face the slugger were god awful I am not kidding they were soooo bad it was pathetic. But people love knockouts. Well they basically manufactured 15 wins for the slugger and all the sudden he is the greatest fighter in his mind and the southpaw was still struggling to get bouts often having to fight in other peoples hometown and against bigger people. Of course the slugger and southpaw begun to resent one another especially considering the southpaw was so much more talented. Well of course this lead to a heated sparring session where the southpaw literally beat the hell out of the slugger and then knocked him out. About a year passes by the slugger had managed to secure 3 more wins but also got knocked out by a boxer with a record of say 5 wins and 12 losses. The southpaw got TWO fights- one draw and lost a decision which was a robbery. The slugger ended up getting TWO title shots which he lasted a total of FIVE rounds in both bouts combined. The southpaw actually won like 6 bouts in a row but got tired of having to always beg for fights and not really making any money so he quit boxing. So don't come on here and tell me how much of a "fighter" Jake is because he is not a fighter. Its an insult for fighters that toil for years learning their craft and can actually fight.Your right- Jake is an entertainer and a success at that. I promise you that if Jake went to a hardcore boxing gym he would literally get run off.
Wow, those are the kind of stories you only hear from the people behind the scenes. Very interesting. I think we can all name a few fighters who were promoted like the Slugger, unfortunately, there's probably too many like the SouthPaw who have been forgotten.
I actually got to be around some pro boxers during my time and it was very interesting to see some of the behind the scene things. First their is so much work that goes into training a pro boxer and making sure he/she are successful and one mistake can set a boxer back years or in some cases finish a career before it even gets started. That is why with Paul I just laugh when people state how "skilled" he is because if he believed in his skills he would challenge other boxers or look to fight really dangerous boxers to test himself. Paul wants to be "great" without fighting great or even good boxers lol. Paul is a great promoter because he understands the power of social media and how easy you can manipulate the content to look however you want it to look. Ever notice Paul never really ventures to other boxing gyms to spar or get work? That its usually a controlled setting in Paul's own gym? Because if Paul ever showed up to a boxing gym- say like a Kronk style boxing gym - Paul would be exposed very quickly and word would spread.
Why should people help Tyson who made 100s of millions in his prime which were from BOXING FANS? If you want to put on a show to help Tyson with money nothing wrong with that. But don't pretend for one second that they acted like that's what they were doing. They sold people a bill of fake goods and they allowed people to wager on a fight that was scripted which is wrong however you want to cut it. I don't know why Paul is an idiot and didn't think anyone would notice him whisper in Tyson's ear during round 1 and IMMEDIATELY after that Tyson didn't do a thing.
