With the next generation ready to meet up, whats your memories and thoughts on the original, Benn v Eubank clashes?

For me personally, I loved the rivalry. I loved that era, early 1990 s British middles /Super middle s.
I followed Benn first then Eubank came crashing in.
What a war the first fight was.
    Both gave everything.
Michael Watson of course, in the mix too
The second fight, whilst not living up to the first (what could?), still proved enjoyable and intriguing.
Was a shame wasn't a rubber match, but perhaps two was enough for the fellas

    Great Era for boxing.

1st fight was great, 2nd fight was just ok in my opinion. Although had Benn got the decision, we probably would of seen a 3rd fight. And I have feeling a 3rd fight would of been alot better than 2nd fight, considering in most trilogies the 2nd fight is normally weakest.

They had a third fight... They fought with swords, no kidding. Thread up about it in the Brit forum.

Anyways, First fight was special for the time and special at any year of viewing Eubank was total class.

I remember seeing it on YouTube, it was like a gladiator thing wasn't it ? I remember when Benn pushed Eubank, and Eubank stood there in his boxing stance ready to go what a legend.

Yeah, If memory serves Chris actually instigated. Fun fact, Chris once said his testosterone was so high he could not spawn girls.

There was some shady business going on in their second fight in my opinion. Don King had a deal with Barry Hearn, where both winner and loser would be under contract with Don King. Neither Benn or Eubank were happy about it, but They signed up on it. I believe it was connected with U.S TV rights. I think this fight was on Showtime in the states, and They might've had exclusive deal with Don at the time (Correct me if I'm wrong) - which allowed him to dictate terms, if Barry wanted the fight shown in the states - and the money that came with it.
Then, very conveniently - fight ends up in a draw... which made the deal "invalid", since - well - there was no winner or loser. Frank Warren said that Don was furious about it.

As for the fights. I think that Nigel Benn fought a wrong fight in their first fight - but to be fair, He couldn't have known back then, that He's fighting a guy with a historically great chin.
Having learned that lesson and having an advantage of more tape from his opponent, He fought more tactically in second fight, with more educated pressure - oriented more on winning rounds rather than hurting his opponent - and He won, clearly, in my view. Outworking typically lazy Eubank.
Judges made it a draw. I have my thoughts on why - as I mentioned above.

Two fine fights,Fergy! The second fight was probably the most justified draw I've ever seen in boxing. The fight was very....very close.

    I thought so to, Stevie.
Hard to argue with the decision. I was certain there might have been a third fight but not to be.

    Shame it didn't come around
If it had the same action as the first it'd have been a classic

I remember watching the first fight in a packed pub with everyone going absolutely crazy.Went to Old Trafford for the re match and watching it live thought Eubank won but seeing it again at home scored it for Benn so the draw was probably right.Great memories from both fights

Lol I was in a pub for the second one, mate. Was pumped up after the second one.
The first one really shows Eubank at his best I reckon, that and the Watson fights.
Chris took some blinding shots from Benn got to say.

Definitely, pal. I actually think Benn faded faster than Eubank in their career s so, a third fight could possibly have seen him stop Benn again.
I know this, Nigel never kos Eubank!

Initial fight about as classic as classic, a genuine war.
