I want to start off by saying that I am boggled at what is gonna happen in a couple weeks and can't wait to see it play out. I'm looking at it from every vantage point. I realized something this morning though. I think there is a really good chance that Clottey can get into Pacs head, under his skin and take him out of his gameplan in this fight. This is why:

Pac may look like a cute, innocent little asian kid (No Homo on the "cute" comment) to some people, but in his head is a very strong bravado. He is very proud and HATES to be thought of as the "smaller" and "weaker" man. This is an element that makes him so great in this sport. I truly believe Pac will NEVER think like mayweather does which is "get the 'w' at any cost" which means box and play it safe to a UD. This was made perfectly clear for anyone who questions it in the Cotto fight. Pac blatantly dis-obeyed Roach and broke from gameplan to prove he could take Cotto's punches and in his own words break Cottos will and prove he wasn't the bigger, stronger and tougher man in that ring.
Also contrary to some ******* beliefs, Pacquaio is NOT that strong mentally. If he was he wouldn't have to risk anything to "prove" to himself or anyone else how tough he is, he woudl just win the fight. He has also made public that some minor things have effected his head in fights (socks more specificallly, and giving blood prior to the fight, etc)
The point I'm reaching for is that there is a very good chance that Clottey will be able to take Pacs shots, and that Clottey will make the crowd aware and Pacman aware of this fact. See the end of the gif I posted below.

Now this can very well bring Pac out, and either do one of two things:

    1. Get Clottey absolutely killed in the ring for embarassing Pac
    OR
    2. Make Pac become the fighter he was years ago, after he abandons his "boxing" and throws caution to the wind trying to kill Clottey.

IF Pac does lose his composure in the event Clottey starts taunting him and making him look small and weak, he will become the fighter he used to be. With a One-track (offensive) mind and get left hand happy.
I think we all agree that a huge part of Pacs success in the higher weights is the added element to his game, that being elusiveness and defense. And without it he probably wouldn't even be favored over Clottey.

    Just a thought. :deal

Hey it can happen.....I mean, 20 years ago nobody thought Tyson would get his ass handed to by Buster, and no one could ever imagine Frankie Randall dropping Chavez in the 11th and break his undefeated record.

clottey is as hard as nails, but pac man will baffle him with speed, and his highly underrated power. I think pac is good enough to win, even is he deviates from roaches masterplan

I like the way Clottey had his eyes closed whilst those shots from Cotto were penetrating his guard, and then he shakes his head after a good few landed.

my point is that having moved up in wieght, people still question his power, although he appears to have carried power up in weight. Hence my comment about underrated power. If you actually understood my post, you would realise i actually understand he has good power.

...You think Pac has "highly underrated power"? Fuggin' hell, man. I thought about a third of ESB would pick him to kayo a rhino with his dick. I don't think it's particularly underrated.

the amount of people who thought he would struggle against bigger men such as cotto, hatton and ODLH prior to each fight was unbelievable. Now people are prepared to say he hasn't actually got underrated power as if people believed it all along.
Do you even know what i mean when i say underrated power? For the record, it means he carries the power, but not many people realise, or recognise this fact. I ACTUALLY do think he has excellent power.

Yeah, if anything, people are acting as if he starched Cotto stiff.

He got Cotto out of there by accumulation in the 12th, and he's supposed to stretch Clottey? Clottey has much better defense, and ten times the durability of Cotto.

Pac ain't starchin **** in this fight.

the reason clottey may be able to upset pacquiao doesn't have anything to do with mentality.... that would favor pacquiao...

it would have to do with the fact that different from pacquiao's last 4 opponents.... diaz-odlh-hatton-cotto..... clottey won't have to fight pacquiao at angles... he will be able to fight him using str8 lines and defense.... which will limit pacquiao's productivity...

My main concern about this fight is the damage that Clottey could possibly inflict on Manny and how that might effect him fighting the Money-Mosley winner.

Im really starting to picture Clottey's skull ramming right into Pac's unprotected face and causing all types of horrors.

On paper there are a lot of things that will be hard for Pac to overcome...but there are a lot of things that Josh does that play right into his hands IMO. I would be pretty surprised if Clottey could pull an upset here.

I think his power is overrated but I understand what you are saying. The last 3 fights all guys had no game plan and thought they could win due to size, strength and power. They and many fans underestimated the notion that Pac is now a legit 147 guy and is on their level size and strength wise. I think his power for each shot is overrated. He landed all night on DLH and Cotto before stopping them, its more the speed and angles. I think Clottey's defensive minded game plan and chin will go a long way in this fight, its a totally different mind set than the other guys who thought they would KO pac easily.

:think I didnt think about that but if Clottey gets an "accidental" headbutt then his chances of pulling out a win increase a lot in this fight. Especially a nasty cut early on.... which clottey has caused before and Manny doesnt like.

I speak it, do you mo'fo?
All my point is is that he has underrated power, as he is fighting people who are naturally stronger and more powerfull than him, and is causing them problems. Due to his natural size differance his power is underrated.
    I don't see an upset.
