I thought this was the best in depth countdown they have done in terms of actually covering the up coming fight at hand. They didn't waste time recollecting each fighter's careers but went right into the upcoming fight.

They talked about the twitch in JT when he got hit which i had no idea occurred. They talked about the 166 weight. They pretty much covered it all and it was really interesting.

    Thoughts?

ya, i thought it was real good... i dont see the point in wasting time with their backgrounds cuz they did it for both fighters their first fight....

i didnt see the twitch the first fight eather until they said that... interesting little tidbit.

    cant wait for the fight.

BTW... seriously, HBO is not that good at making money, they should be putting these things out on DVD, i would be buying them up like crazy. There are only a few Countdowns i wouldnt have bought by now.

I enjoyed it, it really got you pumped up for the fight. Am I the only one that felt a little sorry for Taylor? It just seems like the guy gets no respect and he can do no right, if he would of stuck to his gameplan Manny laid out for him, he would of won that fight IMO.

I'm with you. I'm addicted to these shows. They are SO entertaining.

I really wish they did a Hopkins/Calzaghe 24/7. That would be so fun. I love hearing Hopkins talk. He's just an interesting character. And i would like to know a bit more about Calzaghe.

Yeah, i feel a little bad for him too. You could almost sense that he might've cried during one of the interviews. He's hurt inside by being KOed like that. That has to hurt your pride as a former MW champ. I like JT. But think he's too simple minded for his own good.

Yeah, he seems like a really nice guy. I never knew he had a stuttering problem, it must of been tough growing up for him.

ive always felt for JT... im one of the few that actually like him. I admit... i was fed up with him after the spinks fight, but after pavlik knocked him out and he started choking up in the afterfight interview... i almost lost it.

Merchant kind of hit him pretty hard with some of his questions backstage after the fight, it was the first time I thought Merchant should of eased up a bit.

I also belive that this was one of the better countdown shows HBO has created.

I wonder where Larry Merchant was....I believe that he is being phased out for retirement.

    Isn't very entertaining thus far.

PBF - DLH/PBF - Hatton is the vanguard.

  14. HBO DID a good job it was a good show- countdown :thumbsup Pavlik looks almost too confident:huh Pavlik and his Managers-Trainer, look like just ordinary joe 6 packs, for being very Wealthy, no Rolls Royces, or Fancy bling-bling, or 3 story Mansions, Pavlik is a rare breed:yep
Taylor looks and seems like a good kid, but i can't see him winning this fight:verysad

    Pavlic/Taylor
Is it scheduled for 10 or 12 rounds?
Is it for some kind of title at 168?
