SKY Sports subscriptions have to cover all sports and SKY just paid out £5 Billion for Football, so I do not think Boxing is getting much, indeed I would not be surprised if Matchroom are getting nothing, they might even being subsidising it.

So with the current economical model, the only viable way for decent level fights to happen is PPV. And it must be working as SKY are hardly a charity.

As for sports people being paid too much, again that is a structural thing they are taking advantage of.

I would consider myself politically as part of the Anarchic Syndicate grouping, I am all for the Revolution if you can plan it, but I suspect like me, you are not up to it...

We have seen the start of football fans revolting with ticket prices and that has forced down the price of away tickets for matches.

    That is just the start.

Given the high subscription charges and increases - it is only a matter of time now before Sky feel a huge backlash from subscribers.

This will happen naturally as increasing numbers of people unwilling to fork out as they either cannot any more, some feel they are getting very poor value for money with both groups angry that £300k wages are paid out per week for mediocre football players.

Big Abdul has stated that the wheel is now turning.

They spend all their money on football and f1, but they give nothing in comparison to boxing, albeit their isn't the demand for it compared to other sports but when their is they charge £20. It's not on us hardcore aren't going to pay that to see joshua take a no name out in 2/3 rounds for a title that shouldn't even be his in the first place. If everyone refused to pay it are they going to say I'm not boxing for 500k I want 2million? I don't think so. I haven't payed for a PPV since khan v Prescot but I still watch them all Which proves the model is out dated

    Same as above mate.

If I was a non Sky Sports Subscriber then there is an argument for PPV for non subscribers.

BT are rogering Sky on the Football side for £9 per month.

Sky are going to fall quickly one day.

BT are not 'small', but SKY are backed up by FOX, there would be only winner if it came down to it. So no one, particularly SKY, is 'falling quickly'.

All other sports will suffer on sky due to them overpaying for the new PL football deal. Not just PPV in boxing I am against one promotional company given the exclusive boxing contract Matchroom for 20 shows a year.

Matchroom don't forget is also involved in other sports non UK & Irish fans reading this would laugh but one of their biggest money makers is Darts.

The business model for PPV boxing in the UK is a joke and I certainly don't buy them haven't for years.Joshua v Martin PPV and people bought it?Fools and money.....

Been saying that for a long time - the rot set in when Hearn got a solo deal.

Matchroom fighter v 90% cans on Sky Sports
Mediocre fights - Pay per Poo

Big organisations disappear mate when the market conditions significantly turn against them.

There is little goodwill for Sky out there now as they have bled residential and business customers dry.

Watch what they show on a Champions League night now - a modern day Bullseye programme.

The tide has turned as people are paying far more for much less.

Month by month people are disappearing according to Big Abdul.

You are going to have to provide a source which shows subs are falling month by month.

    You were saying........

Not exactly a company going to the wall.

Did not say they were and have you never heard of Corporate Spin. Expanding Sky abroad - fair enough no problem.

70,000 new customers in the UK but no disclosure of the number of customers who have left. Why?

Big Abdul knows what is going on in the inside with the UK operation and it aint good since BT came along.

I admire your faith in the sport, but sadly boxing is not going to 'make or break' SKY; the Football might, but the boxing... no.

It's interesting how little money Sky pumps into boxing via rights fees- it's actually less than they pay for the WWE now.

Football rights will always be Sky's no. 1 priority across their whole corporation.

Also, what is it with Sky doing absolute garbage montages about guys like Johnny Nelson?

30-60 mins on guys like that? Er, people made hilight reels Y-E-A-R-S ago! That and some daft cricket match from 1982 etc?

Pure filler, that's all that is. Pay fortunes a month to watch that kind of thing? No thanks!
