Barely, and only due to the general weakness of the division. I'd have him around eight or nine depending on how I feel. He hasn't earned the results to be any higher right now. Exactly. He's terrified of taking on anyone in the top ten, let alone the champ.
That's hardly a list of killers, is it? Pulev had a nice run back in 2012/13 when he took on Dimitrenko, Ustinov and Thompson back to back. I rate those wins, even if subsequent performances have thrown them into a slightly lesser perspective. But since then he's done nothing to warrant anything befitting a supposedly top ten fighter. Chisora is his best win in the last four years, and this is a shopworn Chisora who went on to lose to Whyte and Kabayel, albeit narrowly and somewhat controversially in the Whyte fight. Compare that to Ortiz's destructions of Thompson and Jennings, or Parker's wins over Takam, Ruiz and Fury, or even Wilder's wins over guys like Duhaupas and Washington, and it doesn't exactly stack up. Pulev isn't a terrible boxer but he's quite overrated at present due to his awful matchmaking allowing him to look dominant. Put him in against a top ten fighter and you'd see how lacking he is.

You point to Chisora losing after facing Pulev but dont note that Jennings had been beaten not long before etc It may not be considered amazing but it is certainly a solid resume and I couldnt imagine Parkers team looking to put Parker in with him at this time. You noted Fury as a win for Parker which you should but Fury hadnt been active for a long time and his resume doesnt compare to Chisoras at this time. I would favour Huey at this point though. I rate Pulevs resume over Parkers and Wilders at this time but understand how a loss can discredit even a very good fighter. Im not convinced Parker or Wilder would have beaten Wladimir when he fought Pulev but also dont imagine either would have fought Wladimir in their 21st fight
Thompson was older when he fought Ortiz but he had never been destroyed like that before. That's what was so impressive about the performance. Jennings had also never been stopped and had just given Wlad one of his toughest fights in years. Pulev's resume is as solid as anyone else's in the division outside the top five, but the trouble is he hasn't faced anyone legit in years. That's my main issue with anyone who still wants to rate him as a top fighter in the division.
So what if he hadnt been destroyed like that before. Hopkins hadnt lost as badly before losing to Smith Jnr. Ortiz didnt look destructive against M Scott who Chisora stopped
And Pulev has never looked destructive against anyone worth a damn, so why are you so goddamned high on him?
Boxing isnt all about looking destructive. Pulev has a fair resume and is hard to beat Look at Ivan Calderon who won many good fights but wasnt a massive puncher. Pulev is getting older but seems very high risk low reward in my opinion
Better than most contenders got a good chance against Parker. Was too agressive against Wlad, and paid the consequences.
Right, so now boxing isn't about looking destructive. Whatever. Pulev hasn't beaten anyone decent in years and ran from Joshua like a screaming girl. His resume for his last few fights resembles something from the cast of the Walking Dead. He labours to decisions over complete no hopers and utilises a tedious jab and grab routine to shut down inside fighters that he doesn't have the skills to combat legally. Lol at comparing him to Ivan Calderon.
The trouble with Pulev is that he was (as I recall) hanging onto his IBF mandatory through Joshua/Wlad engagement period, and I can't remember but maybe some time prior to that. He didn't want to risk that place in line. And he injured himself when his shot finally came. So it's hard to tell where he is at now. IMO the best thing would just be a Pulev/Miller eliminator.
Pulez is a top ten fighter, he is much better than anyone Wilder has ever fought.............doubt if he will win a title, but there are so many titles you never know. Hell, one of the boxing orgs will make Christy Martin #1 probably, wouldn't be surprises!
