I never got this, what had Martinez done to be ranked ahead of the other guys at that point? IIRC Uchiyama was beginning his reign at a similar time to Martinez but yet Martinez seems to have been viewed as the more proven guy

 

sparring means **** all, the pressure is off in sparring there aren't 1000's of people watching, its ok bashing people up in sparring but whats the point if you freeze in the ring and that is exactly what ricky is doing at the moment. Nigel benn never use to spar at all but done all his talking in the ring not the gym where it counts but I suppose he is another ****e Englishmen in your eyes

Seen on Twitter that Eddie Hearn is thinking of putting Ricky on the Froch undercard in Vegas which would be brilliant for Ricky to get his Vegas fight just a shame it wasn't earlier in his career at 130-135.

 

Has difficult a fight as it will be, what an opportunity to bounce right back and stick two fingers up at the doubters

 

Because Kevin has looked so brilliant lately? He was being schooled by a 16 fight novice before his power saved him, he was also having a torrid time with journeyman Karim El Ouzgari in the fight before that before a very dodgy stoppage

 

I hope so mate, Ricky is a nice guy and deserves a wee bit of luck. You obviously know who it is and does Ricky have a good chance of winning if he can get back to his old self?

It will be a once in a lifetime experience getting to fight in Vegas and if he gets the win it would be amazing and put his career back on track.

To be fair Tony does the pads totally different from me, I have fighters jabbing on my right hand and throwing the right there also, so Ricky after such a long time doing it one way would need to get used to doing it another
