Thoughts on Solis vs. V. Klitschko?

I was starting to think that I'm too tough on Solis with all the criticism I've written about him in the past but this fight gave me vindication. Truly embarrassing for him and all the people involved in his camp.

 

So disappointed, it had the makings of a good fight. I was impressed with Solis and how he was moving, he caught Vitali a few times as well, fast hands indeed.

Such a shame it ended so soon :-(

I seriously missed this fight. I watched the Liam Walsh fight, shortly after I went into the kitchen to talk to my mum, spoke for a bit, thought I hadn't missed much, next thing I came back to the living room and fight was over.

 

solis will be making it rain in those restaurants along ocean drive over the coming months...

vitali was sporting in his interview afterwards, but you could see in his eyes he didn't believe what he was saying about his punch being "really powerful".

 

Man what a terrible ending ... looked as close to Lewiston as any fight I've seen sense ... Vital , leaning backward, skims the guys temple with an arm punch and he goes down like a building ... Solis clearly hurt his leg in the fall but was also clearly wobbled by the punch .. go figure ...

 

I watched the fight a few times and Solis got rocked by the temple punch, he touched his head and his legs went, his left leg wobbled and he fell down and held his right leg. !st rd is always dangerous when you are cold. Lennox and the gang at e-pix missed the punch...I had Solis ahead because he landed 4 punches and Vitali landed 1 prior to the right uppercut to the temple...but Solis was stunned, touched the spot he was hit and went down both legs like rubber...he did his jump routine before the fight and was walking fine after...the shot to the temple was the problem

 

solis was really holding his own with vitali, he's a smart, skilled fighter. he's just in such atrocious condition. tonight made me realise why the klitchkos are so dominant... no one has comparable skill and fitness, but they're far from being in another realm on these counts.

 

He definately won the event, did you not hear the boos at the end when they raised VITLAYS hands? It's categorical proof that the winner was actually the loser.

Vitali is one of the toughest SOBs in the history of the sport. And I'd fancy him against many of the "legends" you guys want to prop up all the time. There have not been many great eras in the HW division. Vitali has not lost in 7 years and his only "losses" were when he had to stop in fights he was ahead in due to injury/cuts.

He's got a good beard and and old school demeanor. Give him his due.

Bit of a contradiction there mate

 

I dont see how there is any other conclusion.

It was a nothing punch. If Solis cant take that, he would have no right in a boxing ring, much less a world heavyweight championship match.
