Anderson Silva could train with Bruce Lee Roy and still stomp Sonnen in the ground. And Sonnen is such a ****ing douche nozzle that I'm gonna rub it in. Hate to say it, but told ya so.. I'm just getting that one out early. I still cant believe some of you guys like this piece of ****.
I like it AND I think it is funny because its true. Silva hates you Koa and you refuse to believe it. He is pompous arrogant and everything that you think Sonnen is except he hasn't the balls to tell you. Sonnen does, thats the difference and you don't like the fact Sonnen tells it how he sees it.
Good points I think Sonnen has the perfect on the ground grappling style to wear fighters down. If you look at how Fitch and Guida fight they like to burry their heads in your chest, squeeze your body, keep constant pressure and throw hundreds of punches not really hard but enough to start wearing you down. That is how Chael Sonnen likes to fight on the ground and when you see guys fight the mentioned fighters they usual gas. I do remember Nate looking so drained and weak after a round or 2 with Chael he had to carry that weight and feel that pressure. Agreed Silva has never had to show cardio lets just examine his UFC career hes went past the 2nd round 3 times but neither of those 3 fights with Maia, Cote or Leites where real fights the record books say fights but those werent fights.
dan henderson fought anderson silva. did you see that fight? sonnen will catch a beatdown. anderson does not care much if he's taken down unless its by a submission master. he is one of the best at taking no damage from his back, stalling, then finishing his opponent off. see dan henderson fight, okami fight, jeremy horn fight, carlos newton fight ect. (well I guess he didnt finish jeremy horn) dont get too exited about this fight. Its mostly hype, a blind man could see that. that said sonnen has a chance, though dont bet the house.
I don't think people have entertained the idea of how tired Silva will get should Sonnen be able to throw him around for the first round or two. Personally, I think Silva got tired versus Maia but was it from the heat or from the flashy moves. I know it's hot in the Gulf but Brazil must be ****ing hot too. If this fight gets physical then Sonnen has the advantage because striking has to be more technical, more precise, less sloppy. You compromise a wrestlers base and he is more comfortable then if you compromise a strikers base. Silva has crazy stand up and I can see a Griffin/Leben/Franklin scenario where he just unleashes the pain. Striking and subbing is where I find him most dangerous. Sonnen is one of, if not the, sickest wreslter Silva has faced but you telling me all these guys who subbed Sonnen are better than Silva in BJJ. Nevertheless, Sonnen by lay and pray, GnP, stall and brawl and PAINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!
Anderson pulls some ****, but 9 of 11 of his fights in the UFC have not gone the distance. Those are some pretty staggering numbers considering he's being bashed for not engaging. I don't like what he pulled against Maia, but he exposed a double standard in MMA for me at least. Some guys can control the fight on the ground, or on the cage. Dictate the pace, wall and stall or lay n pray if they choose. We will give them ****, and Roegan will stick up for them because its part of martial arts.. I say bull****. Anderson pulls the same thing against Maia, he controls the fight on his feet, never giving the grappler a chance to win the fight by controlling where the fight goes, and see how he is treated? I don't like what he did, I think its total bull****, and just as bad as LnP, but given he's finished so many fights, I'll give him some slack.. Now Sonnen just talked **** about the wrong people. He talked **** about the Noguera family, and about Crocop. There is no excusing that in my book, they aren't his opponent.. I'd be just as pissed at Anderson Silva if he were to talk **** about Extreme Couture, or Team Quest. He talked **** about Crocops military heritage, something Crocop holds very dear, and is very proud of. He talked **** about the Noguera family, and their capacity in BJJ. Anderson Silva doesn't talk **** about people's capacity, or culture. The ignorant **** about Brazilians? Brazilians are now a bowing culture, they will punch you in the face and steal your wallet? Well, Republicans aren't exactly known for keeping their promises either.. Sonnen promises this and that, we are going to see him get flattened, it's his legacy as a douche bag **** talker.
I agree that you want to cut them some slack but I think it is hard for the fans because fighters don't fight regularly. They train to peak and perform for one night so they either get all the love in the world or all the hate based on that night. Silva spends 3 months training for a 25 minute bout. Fans get angry at spending their time and money. I understand both sides.
Maia, Filho and Babalu are for sure and personally I feel Forrest and Jeremy Horn are to. I wont disrespect Anderson's BJJ cause he is a Blackbelt and im sure he deserved it. However his 2 submission wins are overatted IMO. Henderson was basically out cold after Silva had rocked him standing and on the ground and with Lutter (Lindland choked him so not the first) was completely gassed out and did not submitt due to the Triangle choke that choke had a big gap in it therefore Lutter could breathe fine but the elbows made him tap.
You make a point that must be considered and absorbed. I have considered and absorbed it. I partially agree with you... ...but Silva usually puts em to sleep so he only has 4 subs. However he is still a black belt in BJJ and Chael has lost 70% of his losses by sub! Chael for President.
Booya! Jimmie youre on a roll. Also I dont think Silva is strong enough for a guillotine or even an armbar. I can see a triangle thats about it. A fresh Nate and Miller had a perfectly tight guillotine and full guard and couldnt finish Chael. Yes Silvas BJJ is overrated, He is long, lean and can throw those elbows but his guard is really for stalling than for anything else. I would not be surprised if he finds Sonnen too strong in his guard. The only thing Im really saying is this, if Silva wins it will be standing up not on the ground.
Chael is going to be walking into a buzzsaw. It doesn't matter if it stays on the feet or goes to the ground, Sonnen is going to eat some serious punishment until he gets dazed enough for Silva to slip in a submission or score a TKO.
I still favour Silva but think Sonnen has a dam good chance in fact i'll even offer you an avatar bet Sugar? You in?:deal
