imo Abraham and his team were underestimating Dirrell and, went into the fight just head hunting.he should have went to the body a lot more. on a side note Abraham needs to learn to fight on the inside and start faster.
Dirrell was well ahead on points but Abraham was really coming on. I think Dirrell would have gone on to win with a few scares had the fight continued. Abraham should have gotten credit for the knockdown in the tenth. From what I saw I don't think Dirrell was faking it, I obviously don't know, but it seemed real. Too bad the fight didn't get a chance to play out but Abraham clearly deserved to be disqualified. Good fight with an unfortunate ending.
:good It was indeed a good fight. A great performance from Dirrell and it started getting more exciting towards the end.
I had Dirrell getting the decision before the fight...and was even more amazed by his performance...I said to myself..."heres the blueprint" and was smiling whe bernstien said the same thing. Nothing more crushing that doing a good job and coming to the days end only to have some ******* spoil it. after watching it twice...and seeing some of Arthurs dirty **** during the fight... I still kind of feel that it was just his ******edness and motor running to throw that punch. not to say "yo! he slipped! time to land at least one on the kid" either way... you are suppose to be a professional. a shot like that can be a spirit crusher. I know Andre will be alright..... he will watch that **** again and feel vindicated. a great show by Dirrell till ****head did what he did.
Abraham saw that Dirrell was on the floor and still chose to punch. He should have been disqualified no question. The ref did a poor job throughout the fight but that was the right call. Abraham was clearly losing the fight and really was dominated...too bad Dirrell didn't get the UD instead of the DQ win.
1. Didn't notice. 2. Watched the replay 100 times. He cuffed it. It was a good no call. 3. Yep, you're right. Was indeed a knockdown. 4. Arthur deserved the DQ and I agree he may not have thought that his knees were down considering how low Dirrell gets and how often he ends up on the floor anyway. 5. Nope, legitimately hurt. You should pray for him. I checked the replay many times. 6. Momentum was going in Abraham's favor. That's moot though.
It's the old saying :- styles make fights. Dirrells style will always cause Abrahams style problems. Dirrell boxed well, and had a great game plan. Kudos to him for being the first man to put Abraham on the canvas, but at the same time you can't really take a great deal from it, as Abraham was off balance, and completely unhurt as a result. I thought Abraham struggled badly with the south paw stance for the first half of the fight, although always looked dangerous. I did really enjoy the fight and it played out as expected, with Dirrell moving a lot, but at no point was Abraham out of it. Abraham did look very dangerous whenever he got Dirrell backed up, although I felt the referee was kind to Dirrell in these situations, although that is to be expected. Unfortunately the fight ended as it did, there has been enough said about this in other threads, however, I couldn't help but feel there was another twist in the fight before it ended prematurely.
yea now that i've rewatched the replay on youtube, he's clearly not milking it and I do hope that he is OK
Dirrell fought a good fight and was on his way to win a clear decision. But he decided to be the drama queen that he is and walk out of the ring crying like a baby rather than like a warrior. Sure it was illegal and I don't disagree with the disqualification but falling over, seizure and all the screaming and crying. . . give me a break lol
