I think Wiman would have got tired, let go and used the mount to pound on him. danzig probably would have escaped the mount.

THEORY: These early stoppages might have had something to do with the insurance problems in Vancouver. They are trying to get insurance willing to be paid for by the city next time, right? If there is a next time.

Fighters always complain about stoppages but as soon as the ref is enquiring about your health you need to show them you are 100% in as animated a way as possible. He should have said something or given a thumbs up with his right hand, pulled with his left hand or something but in that moment he looked like he was limp and on his way out.

Even Danzig understood it was a hard call.

Yves did NOT do enough to clarify he was out. He ASSUMED he was out and grabbed danzigs arm before stopping it. He should have raised danzigs arm and let go to see if it slumped instead of just touching it to make it look like he was doing his job properly. He messed up.

I agree that he probably did it a little quick. The explosive stoppage in MMA makes for quick stoppages sometimes. However it makes each fight look devastating as the ref runs in tackling the guy to the ground as his opponent is seconds away from death.
