Marvin Johnson, Travis Simms, Acelino Freitas and Ricardo Mayorga. What were their strengths and weaknesses.

Ricardo Mayorga had no discernible flaws. Travis Simms is a Democratic member of the

BTW I think Johnson would have caught Beterbiev and Kovalev first. Knocks them both out

Freitas: Very exciting, gifted fighter who had speed and power. Got reckless at times. Quit in multiple fights so there are questions about his will to win.

Marvin Johnson: Tough, well-schooled, high-action southpaw who got pulled into too many slugfests for his own good, losing several of them. I think he lost most of his biggest fights actually? Seemed to spend himself and fade down the stretch in some of those fights.

Mayorga: Explosive, rough brawler who threw heavy leather. If you watch his footwork and defensive tactics you can tell that he had decent fundamentals, but he swung for the fences with some ridiculous home run punches way too often. Could be devastating when they landed but when they missed they often left him completely at his opponents' mercy. He also neglected his head movement at times and would eat unnecessary punches while he was focused on landing the big one. Would have blended in very well with some of the old-school 30s-50s heavyweights, stylistically.

If Marvin made a good impression on you at the IBHOF, then things have changed for the better.
He was my coach at the Indy PAL back in 78-79 and was not exactly friendly, to say the least, back then. I always got the impression that he was bitter about not making the big 80's paydays and wasn't in love with being either a boxer or in the public eye. He deserves more recognition for being a top 175er in a really strong era.

He may have fought in one of or thee deepest pool if not the deepest pool of greatest Lt.Heavys ever. The champs today dont beat guys like Spinks Gregory Franklin (Saad) Braxton (Quai) Galindez either.
