Just watched his amazing fights with Kevin Kelley, Jorge Paez, and Rudy Zavala.....very exciting fighter, I believe he came from a kickboxing background......somewhat underrated in my opinion. What does everyone else think about him?
Very tough fighter, limited boxing experience when turned pro. Come over from Kickboxing. First title shot gave Jorge Paez all he could handle & almost won the Featherweight crown. Narrowly losing a controversial decision.
Exciting rock em sockem ,give all,not science minded, but A level fighter!!!Fought all feathers never backed down from a good fight!!!!:bbb
I think rockem-sockem defined Troy to the T.... he was good but one dimensional and seemed to have only one gear albeit a high gear...I liked him he was tough not so scientifically inclined but consistent in what he did which was attack and attack some more
Tough, relentless fighter who never stopped throwing punches. Not a big puncher. I know he was around for a while and won a title or two I believe, but what i remember him mainly for were his two wars with Paez. Both fights were very similar, with Dorsey putting him on the ropes for almost the entire 12 rounds, and Paez firing back with bigger counterpunches. I thought Dorsey was blatantly robbed in the first, I thought it was one of the worst decisions I've ever seen. The second fight I thought was closer, and probably fairly scored a draw. Dorsey was thought to be just a good clubfighter at this time, but he surprised everyone. To me the fights revealed some of Paez's limitations, and perhaps showed that his constant ballooning and then sucking down in weight between fights had taken a toll on him.
