Ok, So i know opinions are divided Who do u think one the fight last night? I think Choc was gone until the last 2 rounds with the knockdowns. I was at a pretty busy pub so I didn't concentrate all that much and ill have to re watch it tonight, but going into the 9th round I thought choc was gone but after the 10th i thought he may have done just enough, Garth's work rate was much higher which always looks good but alot of his shot weren't landing, but then on the other hand Choc wasn't doing an awful lot Thoughts?
The 2 knock downs obviously saved him and got him enough points to win..... My feed dropped out after 7 but got it back again for the 10th therefore i can't score it properly. In hindsight i guess it was either going to be a Mundine win on points (he hits like a girl these days) or Woods gets another knock out.
I didn't watch it, but reading Intentional Butt's RBR in the general I got the impression that Mundine was behind until the last 2 rounds too. Sounded like Wood's workrate made Mundine very uncomfortable indeed.
Yeah woods work rate was really high, I was sitting there the whole time thinking to myself, Choc doesn't have the power anymore and anyone who doesn't have good power is going to struggle with Garth, he aint pretty but he is effective but in saying that, if mundine put it on more in the last round i think he could have stopped him, but someone with good power like Green would destroy Woods
Yeah its weird because i have no doubt a bloke like Green wld stop Woods within 2rds..... Just goes to show how far Mundine has slipped. If Mundine goes back up in weight to fight Green i don't like his chances of surviving 4rds...... The blokes well and truly on the slide.
Yep no doubt about that, Hope he proves us wrong and still has a few tricks left up his sleeve but pretty much ever since he went down in weight he has absolutely nothing
Green fought the absolutely wrong fight when he faced Mundine - he just plodded all around the ring following Mundine and being picked off by counterpunches. He should have let him come to him instead of chasing him around. It's just a shame that Mundine has slipped so far, as I would have liked to see Green have a rematch against him when they were both still capable. Oh well, onwards and upwards to World Cruiserweight domination for Green, while it's back to searching cab ranks outside Argentinian nightclubs for Choc and Nasser :yep
Agree about Choc but disagree about Greeny, World domination in the cruisers, is a litte far fetched, Steve Cunningham has quoted he is more than willing to come to Aus to fight green, actually Cunningham regularly fights overseas, I think Green would have a decent chance against him but he needs to step up and have a go
whipsy i backed choc at the twos on , thought i was getting great value . was shitting me self after 8 rounds , had wood up 5 rounds to 3 , 77- 75 and was only hoping for a miracle draw maybe , then the knockdowns in the last 2 rounds and with the point taken off mundine in the last for a score of 94-93 mundine , anyone agree with this score, geezes i got lucky , then again qld judges ????????????????????????
I think it was that close, Don't know why Choc was carrying on at the end like he had just koed Tyson
I had it 4-4 after 8 and then with the 2 knock downs and point deduction 95-92 final score but no dramas with 94-93 either was very scrappy and hard to judge at times i found
