It does happen that Wlad decides to punch his opponents back, though. Not always, but it does.

 

Even if you're correct, which you aren't, the other issue is that Vitali couldn't see out of that eye, therefore he would continue to get hit with punches he couldn't see coming. When Lewis is the one throwing those punches that's a bad, bad situation to be in.

Btw, that was officially why the fight was stopped, because Vtiali couldn't see peripherally.

 

Lewis was coming on and put a real hurting on VK that last round. Anyone who says otherwise is insane.

 

He had cuts around his eye not on the eye itself. I would not be supriesed if it is one of the most googled images like you say. The English are the most fanatical and ravanous sports spectators there have ever been.

Lewis was starting to tag Vitali at will, if the fight went 1 more round, Vitali woulda gotten KTFO as his vision was getting worse and Lewis was getting more comfortable and targeting him with ease......I love how idiots always bring up the scorecards..... they don't mean **** when you're only 6 rounds in..... it was 1 rd off from being a draw it's not like it was 6-0 Vitali at that point which still wouldn't have mattered int he grand scheme....especially vs someone like Lewis....Lewis had just taken the last rounds and was in the process of turning the fight around cut or no cut....he's been down early on many occasions and came back to win handily (proly down 4-2 on many occasions where he came back and won). Using the score of the fight at the time of stoppage= IRRELEVANT Klit huggers get it through your heads

 

All saying that Vitali would have been knocked out if the fight had continued should show more respect for the chin that took an uppercut from Lewis that would have dropped 99% of heavyweights.

 

One thing is for sure, Vitali has never been in a fight like that since, tells you how good Lewis was that at 38 he can do more to Vitali than any other fighter from this era.

 

He did hurt a Prime Vitali.

 

Vitali only got better after this fight. He had no real experience on the world stage. He would have destroyed LL in a rematch and everyone - most imporantly LL and Emmanuel Steward - knows it. Fairplay to Lennox for managing to find a way to win this one.

 

The same way he KTFO Rahman, Byrd, Thompson, Peter, Barret.

Lewis didn't have quick enough feet to run as fast as Haye did.
