There are eight possible paths remaining to crown the Super Six World Boxing Classic champion:

Semi-Finals: Ward beats Abraham, Froch beats Johnson...Final: Ward beats Froch

Semi-Finals: Ward beats Abraham, Froch beats Johnson...Final: Froch beats Ward

Semi-Finals: Ward beats Abraham, Johnson beats Froch...Final: Ward beats Johnson

Semi-Finals: Ward beats Abraham, Johnson beats Froch...Final: Johnson beats Ward

Semi-Finals: Abraham beats Ward, Froch beats Johnson...Final: Abraham beats Froch in rematch

Semi-Finals: Abraham beats Ward, Froch beats Johnson...Final: Froch beats Abraham in rematch

Semi-Finals: Abraham beats Ward, Johnson beats Froch...Final: Abraham beats Johnson

Semi-Finals: Abraham beats Ward, Johnson beats Froch...Final: Johnson beats Abraham

Which path do you think most likely and why?

Even though he finally looked a bit mortal against Bika (and he didn't really struggle as much as some make out), Ward has to be favored to cruise to an easy win over Abraham based on these performances...and all recent ones.

Froch vs. Johnson is a bit more compelling but Froch is in the zone right now, having boxed well in spurts against Kessler and all night long against Abraham. Johnson is simply too slow on the trigger to hang with Froch in lobbying for points, and with the Cobra's chin the heavy hands of the Road Warrior aren't too much of a worry either.

Ward and Froch seem destined to compete for all the glory (and the dubious privilege of having Bute waiting in the wings).

That's another tough one to split right now, but my gut says that Ward will grit his teeth and find a way.

The most likely outcome is that Ward and Froch meet in the final and Ward takes it on points. They seem like the two best fighters left and the ones who are in form. Nobody really looks good against Bika so we can't be too critical. Also, Froch did a great job in making Abraham look so one dimensional.

    Shouldn't be hard for him.

Just fight in California with three American judges.

    (Tonight's judging was truly disgraceful)

The shutout may have been a bit INXS, but surely the right man won.

You could just as easily argue that Ward would have a tough time earning it in Nottingham as Froch in Oakland.

In Helsinki it's a toss-up, in which my leaning is Ward.

    Based on tonight, no.

I think Froch was lucky to get the decision in Nottingham, but I have no real problem with that one, it could have been scored either way. And I'm far from a Froch fan.

But tonight's scoring was truly atrocious.

Ward won a close (and dirty) fight.

    120 -108 ?????

What if Bika had won another two or three rounds ?

    He would have been robbed.

And the scores would probably have remained the same.

Well, Andre has had three in a row in Oakland. It's doubtful he'd get five in a row, so at some point before it's all said and done he will probably have to sojourn to a neutral location. Neither Green nor Bika had any leveraging power whatsoever, and - despite being the champion at the time - nice-guy Kessler just didn't offer up that much resistance. A shrewd handler like Kalle and a stubborn mule like Froch are unlikely to suffer homebody demands as gladly.

Regardless, Ward is my heavy favorite to beat Abraham and slight favorite to beat Froch...no matter where it happens.

I actually think Abraham beats the yankee hypejob.

I'll put that out there now, the cheating billygoat and his homecooked judging panel and ref won't be able to rewrite a cold KO.

King Arthur just got made to look normal by a supreme gameplan by a fighter underrated in many aspects of his game, not least his jab and outside fighting. Ward gets drawn into a headbutting contest on the inside I think the King knocks the fraud out.

I can't get as interested as I want to now that Kessler has gone. It robs the competition of its ultimate credibility and the need for a Froch v Kessler rematch.

However, i think Froch v Ward is a nailed on final and on this occasion I can't see Froch making the mistakes he did against Mikkel. I see Froch stopping Ward in the final.

Still don't like the man mind you...

Have you only seen Ward's last couple of fights? He has a wonderful jab and outside game. He is also brilliant at adapting his game on the fly to deal with whatever he has in front of him.
