Three first round knockouts all from November 1983, two back to back on the same card...

Can you guess what three first round knockouts were among the ones that generated the most hype and television air time in 1983? These three, two of which occurred on the same card on Friday 25th, November 1983, are surely among the select top few.

I suspect two might be easy and come to fans who were watching boxing back in the early 80's, with one being much more obscure. What fights immediately come to mind for you?

Looking at Joe's cornerman's jacket its his son Marvis against Tyson? I'm trying to think without watching the link.

It's a Marvis Frazier fight alright, but not the Tyson bout...

Holmes-Frazier, with Mancini scoring a (rare) first round KO on the undercard.

Well, you gave away the first one (Mugabi/Parker )because I can see the title of the attached you tube video.

The second one which you are hinting at as a the obsure one would be when Ray Mancini kod some unranked dude named Johnny Torres in a non-title fight. I remember watching it on the Holmes/Frazier undercard, which come to think of it must be the other fight. It took me a few minutes to remember "Torres" because he never did anything after (or before, probably) this fight.

I am posting this w/out looking at the previous responses in this thread or looking the info up on the internet.

And, no, I do not have Rain-Man like Autism. LOL.

Yeah, without looking it up, I'll say the third KO that Russell is referring to would be Rosario-Elizondo. I know Meza-Garza happened in '84 and Hagler-Lee isn't all that obscure (plus I think it happened in 82). Those are the only 1st round KO's on national TV that I remember watching.

Damn Saad, you're pretty good with this entire date thing. I can't remember anything most of the time however, unless it's something overwhelmingly not useful and random...

Good call. March 1984 was when it took place.
