GGG vs. Pirog GGG vs. Martinez GGG vs. Chavez Jr. Great pity ! All three fights could be very competitive. Sadly, so sadly....
I used to love Maravilla. Why do you think it wouldn't have been competitive? No chin? Not enough punch resistance overall? But the man had some skills and decent power. IMO But yea, the more I think about it, I probably would've been " heart broken". I only started to root for GG recently, just to see him ( actually someone, anyone) become king. Undisputed. And make history in times where its f×××××g hard to take all belts, cuz of stupid politics, greed and egos P.S I know almost nothing about Pirog , so I'm curious about it too. Can someone go toe to toe with GGG ? Dayuummm. Thats a scary thought.
Chavez Jr. vs Golovkin- would have been a war when Chavez was semi serious about boxing. Martinez vs Golovkin -would have been considered a Maravilla cherry pick if he had of fought him because no one knew who GGG was and he was not ranked by the WBC during Sergio's reign. GGG would have been out boxed in my opinion. Pirog vs Golovkin- The Grandmaster was no KO artist but the was a great boxer. Now way can I see GGG beating him unless he throws his face into every punch trying to get the knockout. Seriously folks, Pirog broke the Russian stereotype of an "upright robot". Was big fan of Maravilla myself and i always thought that hes good match-up for Golovkin-speed,southpaw,had good power,skilled boxer also but problem was that he was fighting with his hands down and suffered knock downs vs people like Macklin.Not sure if he was disciplined enough to go 12 rounds without making a mistake.Also was getting old towards the end and suffered many injuries while Golovkin was still relatively unknown and high risk/low ****** sadly.
Its a damn shame GGG vs Martinez never happened, it sucks Martinez got injured when he did. Had he not gotten hurt while training for/fighting Murray he would have fought GGG next. and BTW Pirog was not some great talent he was a C+ level fighter
He just wasn't big enough to beat GG. Martinez was never a true MW. He outhustled guys, he wouldn't out hustle GG.
Seriously who at 160 can out hustle GG? I really don't see any big contenters for him but there are a few that can give an effort but no real threat
