There are frequent members of this board that actually think Tszyu quit on his stool like Liston did in Miami ... anyone agree with that one ?

 

Cant agree with that one... from the mouth of Milt bailey... "Liston had enough".. Listons own refusal to return to face a further round denied him further BULLYING..

thats like saying frazier quit against ali.. absolute bull****.. kostya wasnt feeling fantastic but if johnny lewis let him he wouldve walked back to centre ring to face machine gun fire. in kostyas book theres a part where he mentions that when he was ko'd by vince phillips johnny told him later that he was about to throw the towel in anyway, kostya got angry and screamed at him that hed rather die than quit and if he did that then they wouldnt ever speak again.
lewis replied he didnt give a **** if they never spoke again because it was his job to protect him and thats what he was going to do if he ever saw kostya in danger.. kostya respected that and ever since then johnny was the boss in the corner

How the hell is that uninformed? I saw the damn fight, and I even rooted for Kostya because I wanted him to give Ricky his first loss....and what did he do? He quit on his stool. What kind of "undeniable" champion is that? I don't care if his ass was glued on that stool, he should have at least went out with a bang.

Btw, yes I'm a clown but even the clown knows Marciano is the greatest! REAL champions don't quit on their stools like Kostya. REAL champions send their opponents to the hospital like Rocky did.

Kostya is a great no doubt, but I just don't think he's underrated like the other guy said. It may have been offensive to some, but its the truth...and it pisses me off how he just quit like that in such a big fight.

 

Do you personally consider yourself worthy of placing yourself into the same position of TSZYU...ALI....LISTON...ROBINSON....CHAVEZ...WILLARD...ETC..ETC...ETC........ in the words of Vince Lombardi "Fatigue makes cowards of us all..".... None of these me retired via the cowardess route.. Will you continue the arguement??

 

Um, I don't think I ever stated that I place MYSELF in the same position as those guys. I just said that Kostya quit on his stool, and that's the ****in truth. Vince Lombardi should re-phrase that quote to "Fatigue makes cowards of us all....except for Rocky Marciano".

You are also wrong about your other statement, which has so many spelling errors I almost didn't get what you were saying. Kostya and Liston both quit on their stools, and to me thats cowardly.

 

Dude **** Rocky Marciano, if he went up against someone like Tyson or Foreman or even a prime Louis the guy would be laying with his face on the canvas.
