    I like sluggers, brawlers and technical boxers. I don't like huggers and maulers that spend their time rubbing their oiled pecs on each other.

    Do:
    Wilfredo Gomez, Roberto Duran, Juan Manuel Marquez
    • Gomez - the feet of a dancer and the fists of a killer
    • Duran - the complete fighting machine: incredible inside game, slick head movement but doing so whilst attacking and wicked body punching. A style that would have been successful in any era in my opinion.
    • Marquez - could have been any number of Mexican fighters. Great mix of head and body attack, all done with fundamental technical correctness.

    Don’t:
    Pernell Whitaker, Bernard Hopkins and Floyd Mayweather

    • Whitaker - I like southpaws who have a good mix of defense and offence like Marvin Hagler or Mark Johnson. Slick, defense-minded southpaws just don’t float my boat.
    • Hopkins and Mayweather - both made punch economy an art form, particularly over the second half of their careers. It’s just not my kind of art. Sorry.

    Glad y'all mention late career Hopkins n Mayweather. Prior to that they were more offensive minded which ppl often forget. I can enjoy them late career but:

    Mayweathers(Berto fight never will I watch or McGregor, Guerrero, Maidana 2) performances yuck!

    Hopkins(Calzaghe, RJJ 2, Dawson) performances yuck!

    I do like

    Mayweather- Cotto, Pacquiao, Mosley
    Hopkins- Pavlik, Pascal, Tarver

    Which I feel ppl overlook especially Mayweather-Cotto n Hopkins-Pascal 1.

    I think it’s possible to appreciate or respect a fighter but not enjoy their style. That’s just personal preference.
