Yeah calling him a Tom, a Gorilla, ignorant and always finding ways to make Joe seem subhuman is just promotion. :verysad Especially after Frazier fought to have Ali reinstated and gave him money while he was in exile. Ali was a backstabbing *****.
That documentary is about as biased as you can get. The makers obviously had a personal vendetta to destroy his image. Luckily most people arnt as gullible as some in this thread.
It's called mental warfare as well. Ali was the best at it. Frazier knows this but he's bitter and probably jealous.
I have always thought Ali was a villain, and I never went for him. I personally did not care much for the thrilla in manilla. Frazier wasn't the same after his destruction at the hands of Foreman. Ali and Fraizier looked so tired and sluggish near the end, sometimes it was agonizing for me to watch some rounds. The first fight was the best of the three. Purchased it closed circuit with some buddies of mine in the army, cost me $10.00. I thought it was a lot too back then, but I thought it was worth it too.
Many Filipino boxing fans fans booed Ali during the fight introductions just before the fight started. Many cheered for Frazier when he was being introduced.
He tried that mental warfare in the first fight and Frazier absolutely worked him. He kept doing it to be a ****in *******. There is a difference between talking **** and taking it to a personal level. Ali made it personal. There are some things you don't say to a grown ass man.
