just rewatched that documentary again. saw it a few yrs ago. god its truly was an amazing documentary. epic as the op says
yeah he came across as a real twat i saw facing ali last week and lyle and chuvalo came across as real top men
ali was a **** but "karma" is bull **** he just took too many punches when he didnt have the ability to avoid them anymore karma is made up
i have this on dvd, its been on tv a number of times in the uk. its one of the best boxing documentarys ive seen. i love ali, he's my hero, but what he did to frazier was out of order, it over stepped the mark. if joe still hates ali over this, he's within his rights.
Thank you Ill let you know when I do a follow up thread concerning the fall out between Joe and Futch
I'm wary of the whole Karma angle, but it was Ali decision to keep fighting and to ignore his failing health
Shows you the "mindset" of fighters back then, or specifically this one. Whereas these days, fighters will do whatever to avoid someone who can beat them, Frazier was handing out money to Ali to get him in the ring so he can fight him. Not for the payday, simply for his own legacy. Gotta respect that.
I ****ing hate Pacheco, in every documentary I've seen him in he comes across as someone you would never tire of punching. Anyway, the documentary is amazing, really makes you doubt that Ali deserves the "one of the greatest men of all time" tag that people sometimes throw about when talking about him, the way he treated Frazier was way over the line.
