Supposed to be really good, here's a clip of the director discussing the documentary: http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/video/2008/nov/11/sheffield-doc-fest-boxing As another appetiser here's today's Big Interview from the Guardian. Donald McRae interviewing Joe Frazier. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2008/nov/11/sportinterviews-boxing
thank you for reminding me, nice night of programs for me - firstly the arsenal game then this documentary
just watched it now, great documentary... both men are legends, really got to me when frazier still said he would of risked his own life to get back in the ring for the 15th round in manilla just goes to show the amount of heart and determination boxers have
still got the bitterness too, goin with his answering machine message anyways only if :smoke joe knew ali was pullin out
yee at the end damn ali really did pisssssssssss him off .... if joe knw he wud of been doing jumoing jacks blind :rofl
Great documentary. So sad that Frazier has ended up so embittered.Futch might have called it wrong, but he's intentions were faultless.
I havn't seen it yet but you could tell from the preview posted on here last week what angle it was going to take.
Well, wouldnt you be bitter if your kids got bullied at school cos Ali was such an arsehole to you for so long? Thats what happened to smokin Joe, & I would be bitter too if I were in his shoes. Ali was a funny *******, but he was also a nasty *******. people tend to conveniently forget his nasty streak, whilst celebrating his wit. Oh, I almost forgot my manners there! Welcome to ESB, niffy noob:good
Unfortunately, it was biased against Ali. Like any solid boxing fan I know what went on so the documentary couldn't pull the wool over my eyes. I'm not saying Ali is an angel but it was biased.
