I didn't know Ali was leading by such wide margins going into the 15th:huh, thanks for the info i assumed the fight was much closer than that...

Remember that was a very long time ago...

Ali, chin would have held up no doubt. Frazier, needed help going back to his corner! Ali, by stoppage in 15th!

A great what if that we see every now and then. In the Frazier doc, it was mentioned that people at ringside in Ali's corner said he was going to quit.

Is it true? Hard to say. What would the 15th round look like? That depends if Ali didn't punch himself out. Once Eddie Futch stopped the fight in Frazier's corner, Ali collapsed in the ring. Ali later said it was the closest thing to death.

    Ali was dead tired.

Frazier said he was ready to go, and his eyes were not that swollen to be truthful. Had there been a 15 round, I think Frazier has say a 1 in 3 chance of getting the knock out.

Best guess is Frazier wins the 15th, and Ali hangs on.

Hard to think that Ali would quit on his stool.too much pride in that man, that man can dig deep, and i mean really deep.

1 ) Ali collapsed at the end of the fight.

2 ) Ali said he was close to death.

Now what makes you think he had a lot left for round 15!? Please do tell!

Something tells me you liked the angry Ali who at times was racists. Gee, why am I not surprised.

There is not clear evidence of this, but he was ready to quit vs. Liston with the title on the line.

Sure he was blinded then. In this case he was dead tired.

I very much doubt whether Muhammad would have actually quit against Liston. I believe he was telling Angelo to cut the gloves off in a moment of panic.

There's no way on Earth that Ali or Frazier would EVER quit

    No, that is not reasonable.

Frazier seems like he would never quit. I have Ali as my GOAT, but the fact that, to be as accurate as possible, Dundee forced or he allowed Dundee to force him back again against Liston does not prove that after repeatedly saying his was done/cut the gloves off 11 years later that he would not quit then.

The best you can say is there is absolutely some ambiguity, Dundee might have got him back in there, & Ali might have on some level been looking for that encouragement from Dundee.

Ali did not collapse he voluntarily went to the floor to escape the backslappers and general melee.

Racists? You cant even spell the ****ing word correctly.:patsch

Plausible that he could have been looking for Dundee's encouragement but after a big 14th round, there was nothing for Dundee to say except what the hook and don't get caught.

You could say Dundee saved Ali's in the Cooper fight with his illegal use of smelling salts, and in the Liston fight.

So I made a typo. Racist. I'm busy and do not spell check often. You on the other hand can't add, and say things like Rocky Marciano lacked one punch power. Who's dumber?

You didn't answer 1 question correctly. Ali collapsed because he was dead tired. And you skipped question two. Gee I wonder why.

If you doubt Ali was Racists, I suggest you read Hauser or Kram.

Ghosts of Manila,” a bracing 2001 look back by Mark Kram, the Sports Illustrated writer. He aimed his book, which covers much more ground than just the 1975 fight between the two men, to be “a corrective to years of stenography that have produced the Ali legend.” And across a couple of hundred pages he lays out Ali as a racial separatist, a pawn of the Nation of Islam and a fighter who, while blessed with unrivaled gifts, was fueled chiefly by fear.

    For a laugh Pacheco said:

" Ali took the fight mostly to have *** a couple thousand miles away from his wife and home. "

PS: I read you are considering leaving. Be gone, you won't be missed here.
