That's back to what I said months ago The World Middleweight Championship is fought at a maximum weight limit of 160 pounds. Sure anyone can come in at 155 pounds & be legal that's their choice, BUT the opponent can weigh any weight too 160 pounds or under. CW fights can be made if both parties are willing but title fights should only be fought at the legitimate weight limit

Ward holds and grabs and headbutts because he has to.

1. He has a shaky chin
2. He has a relatively short reach

Because of these two things, he has to try to grab, hold, maul and so forth. It's a more wretched version of how Wlad Klitschko learned to fight so as to not expose his chin.

The difference is that Wlad doesn't headbutt and "grind" his opponents and Ward does.

It's an ugly style, and I'm not sure he has the strength or size to be able to do it with Kovalev. Hopkins himself had little success with this method against Kovalev, although to be fair Hopkins is older than Ward is.
