I just find it funny how Haymon is able to get all his guys these big fights, yet he hasn't done anything for Thurman since the Quintana fight.

Can we really blame Haymon? His track record proves that he's at least willing to match his guys up with each other.

Also, I'm not buying that everyone is scared of Thurman. You can't tell me that everyone from Alexander, Guerrero, Mayweather, Khan, Porter is frightened of this guy. I mean he went 12 rounds with Jan Zaveck... A guy Berto stopped. I know it was on cuts but he stopped him.

He needs to step up big time.

  4. I don't care that Bundu is undefeated, this is a bad fight. It's on the same level as his fight with Jan Zaveck. Thurman's career has simply not advanced in the last couple years. He's been buried in the undercard whereas guys like Alexander and Khan have been getting PPV dates, and head lining events.

Now there are reports that Alexander offered him the fight and he declined because of a hurt hand.

I'm throwing another red flag on this fight and Thurmans career. He looks like he's on the Gary Russell Jr. plan. We've seen that plan doesn't work

It might not be a bad fight but not the type of matchup thurman should be getting right now. And seeing as how welterweight is stacked this fight reflects poorly on al and gbp... out of all the fights out there.

Honestly to me it seems they are not trying to raise thurmans stock all that much.

The point I'm making is he wasn't stopped - he was getting comprehensively beaten, but he wasn't stopped nor was he close to being so.

LMFAO @ Bundu being a top level fighter..

Maybe in Europe somewhere, but out here in the states, we dont even count joe blows like Bundu..

GTFO with that Bundu is a top level ****. haha

THis is a shitty fight for THurman that's no different than GGG against all these bums..

    THurman needs a real fight..

Bundu's more talented and a tougher match-up than Porter or Guerrero.

Yeah I know but the Bundu stoppage of Purdy wasn't great either.

I disagree. Purdy was out on his feet. (Or off, as the case was)

The same way yas didn't count Kell Brook as he was a euro bum and a joe blows when Porter was gonna take his head off within 4 rounds?

    Arrogance?

    :good

Switch hitter too. Faced Gavin in the latter's backyard and still came away with the victory.

In truth, Bundu's level of comp is probably on par with Brook's, prior to the point when Brook faced Porter. People who have followed his career know that this guy is legit- and that it will take very good fighter and performance to inflict a convincing defeat.

Thurman's a solid guy, but if he isn't on point, he'll lose. Even if he is on point, it's no guarantee that he gets by Leo.

Why? Because he defeated a tentative Devon and a past-his-peak PM? Porter's more powerful, but he's nowhere near the technician that Bundu is, and likely never will be.
