He got the job done but he needed an impressive KO to keep the hype going.

    I don't see why.

It's like nobody saw his fight with Jan Zaveck.

Besides, he beat a legit top 10 WW. A good win indeed...

He had bundu hurt and boxed decent to start with but should have stepped it up after 5 rounds and come forward instead it became monotonous, he seemed to lack his usual spark

He put on a decent demonstration but he got booed because he has started to talk to much. When you run your mouth then you must deliver or the people will shut you down.

This is the jist of it. Talk the talk by all means but you need to walk the walk. Likewise when you want to talk about the top guys ducking you YOU need to force their hands with WOW wins not just "decent" ones.

Golovkin and Kovalev have shown how to make an impact and Thurman had his chance but sort of blew it

    I'd be quiet

his next opponent could be Maidana or Alexander

they are more than "tests" they are tough fights.

Exactly. It's all about backing up what you are saying. It's even better not to say much and make statements in the ring. Thurman proved he can box! But did he make a statement? Nah.

I still like thurman... it was a bad showing, it happens. At the end of the day he beat a underrated opponent in a bad outting that hopefully he learns from. Every fighter has limitations and this fight showed a lot of where thurman is at right now.

This fight has nothing to do with a potential maidana fight.

Based on what, he outboxed and won every round against an undefeated fighter. Knocked him down and then coasted from then on. People wanted and expected him to KO everyone, but that's not how boxing works. If Bundu wanted to exchange and not faint for virtually the entire fight, he would've gotten knocked out. Chose to be cautious and Thurman was satisfied winning evey round.
