    95% of those viewers were people who had been told by the other 5% to tune into CBS to check out the ridiculous haircut and hideous ring attire this boxer who was fighting on there was wearing.

    I think Al is starting to see the dividends of putting on competitive meaningful match ups on free tv. If he continues with fights like this PBC and Showtime can push boxing towards being a major sport in the US again.

    Meanwhile promoters like Oscar and Bob will probably continue to put nearly every fight on PPV.

    It was abit of a dull match but I don't mind because at least one guy has two belts and Danny Garcia is forced to go back to drawing board and fight contenders if he wants to get a title again.

    These ratings are very suspect. The Scene article says 5.1 million watched the 12th round, but an average of 3.72 million watched the fight. It cites the Nielsen company as its source.

    Do you know how many households have a Nielsen box? According to Nielsen, 20,000. They extrapolate their ratings from 20,000 households. Have you ever met a Neilson family? Ever heard of one? Me neither.

    Now, another site quotes the same Neilson source and says only 2.7 million watched the fight, slightly fewer than watched "Chicago P. D." on another channel.

    It was a boring fight, Garcia did not throw enough punches and Thurman did not show any power at all..................it could have been called a draw, but in my opinion they both lost that fight. Brook will beat Thurman.............I thought Thurman lost to Porter...........

    thats free 5 million even 20 thousounds ppv is better then 5 million watching it on free BIG difference

    imagine if Golovkin was fighting Jacobs on free tv on pbc he would draw 20 million plus
