So what? Have you thrown our love of defensive backfoot counter punchers down the toilet and traded it in for the American equivalent of Manny Pacquiao? Which is exactly what Spence is. You don't like Thurman because he acts like a white guy.

Nope. He’s like Amir Khan. Just begs for paydays but doesn’t want to earn it. He waits for everyone else to **** eachother up then tries to capitalize on damaged goods like Porter. He doesn’t act white btw. He went all “ghetto” (just a figure of speech) on Danny Garcia. I also don’t like him because he looks like bizzy bone from Bone Thugs and Harmony. I just don’t like him. There’s nothing race about it. He’s a poor character.

Not to mention that he already crossed the Atlantic to emphatically conquer the division's #2 behind Thurman. That guy was rated #1 in the division prior to Thurman's victory over Danny Garcia. And, lest we forget, is the same guy Thurman stated he was unwilling to travel for.

What can Spence do? Fight Porter or Garcia? I'm sure he'd oblige, but what do the Porters and the Garcias think about it?

Never have seen Thurman beg for a payday.

Porter was not damaged goods, neither was Danny Swift.

    You look silly.

Manny and Floyd just like Khan. The Porter that fought Brook and wasn’t dropped by Broner probably beats Thurman barely beat him by a round or when they did fight. Pacquiaotards calling someone silly.

I thought you were a "skills pay the bills" guy? Why don't you like the guy with skills here? He's a "ducker" like Floyd, a cherry picker like Floyd, waits for guys to get old and past it like Floyd, he's a defensive counter puncher like Floyd. And he's nothing like Khan.

By the way, Porter probably beats Floyd as well, and what about that Broner match, he only beat Broner more decisively than Maidana, including the KD.

He's very demonstrative when it comes to guys he perceives as easier marks (Malignaggi being the most prominent example). I'd like to see him save the bolshy verbals for the big boys, or else just can the hard-ass act altogether. It doesn't really suit a guy who spends his downtime serenading local birdlife with meandering flute solos.

I don't think of Thurman as a counterpuncher, FWIW. He is, of course, capable of counterpunching a given opponent (as all boxers are), but his game is more about fast-twitch responses than the reading comprehension and acute gauge of timing that a trade counterpuncher relies on - that's why he's at his most successful when he can get off first, and much less so as a counterpuncher at true world level. It was understandable that he would look to counter frequently against a bullish style like Porter's, especially given that Porter could compete with him in being first to the trigger, but his attempts were rather spotty, with most connects being of the scuffing variety (save for the odd flush one here and there). Contrast to Brook's performance against the same opponent, wherein Brook was more consistent and economical in reading and countering Porter's charges (and also more defensively sound than Thurman, incidentally).

Spence beating brook solidified his status as the Number 2 guy behind Thurman.. once Thurman shakes off the Cobb Webb's and Spence takes care of a tough title defense in Peterson, Thurman will have no choice but to fight Spence in a true 50/50 fight. Spence has earned it, deal with it chump.

You’re really trying today. Floyd is the man and there’s a reason why boogeyman become cherrypicks (like Manny, Shane, even Baldomir for example) the minute the fight gets signed. If Floyd was in Thurman’s position right now, you all would be crucifying him and Floyd is held to his own set of standards.

Asinine comparison. Thurman is a Cotto level opponent of hit and not get hit and ring IQ. He even front runs and starts backpedaling just like Cotto at around the 6th round. Thurman doesn’t have a jab nor defense. His right hand is atrocious and even let Robert Guerro come back and earn a moral victory. Just stop.

You only like Thurman because you hate Spence period.

Runtimes day in the sun is rapidly coming to an end. He needs to man up and fight Spence by the end of next year.
