Thurman is taking care of business. He's selling himself as a monster welterweight like he should.

No, Thurman is a good cat. He is a throwback fighter and yes he pushes his self confidence, but he also recognizes when he makes mistakes, like in the Soto-Karass fight. He is truthful and doesn't shy away from questions. When asked about getting sparked in the first round, he admitted that he came in too comfortable and lackadaisical, and paid for it hard.

This guy is a throwback fighter like Cotto. He is willing and wanting to fight everybody, not afraid to let go of his 0.

Maybe the OP just doesn't dig on Thurman because is actually well spoken when being interviewed, and doesn't try to come off as ghetto famous.

If anything, I like the guy a lot more at this point, now that he's dealt with adversity and faced a higher caliber of opposition. He's proved this year that there's basis to his self-confidence.

Thurman has more fans than any Welter

Most people who watch Mayweather, Khan or Broner...they want to see them lose :yep

Thurman has a star aura about him, he is the cross over type, good looks, always in shape. A clear Alpha tone in everything he says...without being a lowlife...

I like him and was really impressed by how he handled Soto Karass, who was definitely a step up in competition for him. He can box and punch, my favorite kind of fighter.

He was ungracious toward Soto Karass in his comments right after the fight, but that doesn't bother me too much. He's a fighter and he was pumped up. Hell, I lived through the Mike Tyson era.

HahA relax all boxers are doing that (with the exception of Broner) He acts like he's the Predator of boxing, and you act like he's got a few inches buried in you somewhere.
