The most disgusting robbery ever was Juan Coggi-Eder Gonzalez I.

I haven't seen Toney-Tiberi since it happened, and I was only 11 then. I remember having Tiberi clearly ahead, but I haven't got around to watching this fight again.

I watched the fight, having heard what a travesty it was, etc. It didnt seem any worse than a dozen other fights I've seen. I've seen worse judging.

Finally a good post. You definitely saw that fight and made an accurate analyze.

I do not want myself get too much involved in the scoring as I have a lot of respect for Toney's style. I appreciate his subtle defensve moves. But Tiberi , with all his pressure, fought a very determined fight. You could definitely give him the fight.

The point is that Toney lost an at least equally disputed decison in the second Griffin so that made more than up for it. He also lost a terrible decison in the first Peter fight.

What about Toney's second Griffin fight and the first Peter fight?

That's not the point. Well, maybe for Toney it is, and maybe in a Karmic sense it is, but for the purposes of watching this fight that is hardly the point. The point is that Tiberi wasn't a world-beater or a great, he was just an honest proffessional who took his chance, won the fight, and got ****ed.

    That's hard.

One of the worst decisions of the 90's. Shocking.

Yes, it is hard but it is also part of boxing. As a fighter you gotta learn lo live with these bad calls by the judges.

Toney also got ****ed in the second Griffin and first Peter fights. It is just part of the game.

Of course Toney was in his prime, but again: Toney was on the flu that evening and had cramps in his leg so that he wasn't even able to walk by the end of the fight. He definitely wasn't 'a peak Toney' that particular evening, he was maybe 50%...

But it should not be, when you lose by way of unlicensed judges and a bad ref that does not belong in any sport.
