    contenders or pretenders in todays game could either one be champion? i believe the were both european chapions.

    I agree. This is my favorite era of boxing. Dauthille was especially good. Mitri was solid. Both guys would be players today.

    Villemain the WW cum MW showed Jake a thing or two, not bad for these supposed across pond lesser fighters (my ass, the top among them were just as good & some better), good fighters all these Frenchman were, forsure!
