This is an excellent old school match up...Yarosz fought a number of styles, demonstrates good footwork and jab. He beat a swarmer in Ken Overlin...but would Overlin have the reported intensity of Tiger Flowers? And was Overlin considered on the same level as Flowers? What about the speed of Flowers? What's your take?

I think that Teddy Yarosz, as fine a boxer as he was would lose to Tiger Flowers by decision because Tiger Flowers seldom lost to non-punchers. Flowers was a southpaw almost similar to a Harry Greb in his whirlwind attack, but without Greb's iron chin. Flowers usually lost to the top bangers of his day like Sam Langford, Jack Delaney, Mickey walker, who dropped Flowers twice.. Flowers decisions the light hitting Teddy yarosz IMO...

I think Flowers was most likely faster than Overlin, id rate them pretty closely as fighters, Flowers being one of those guys that were just a pain in the ass to outpoint, but thats likely Yarosz' only option to win as his power was limited.

If theres a guy without power who could have outpointed Flowers though Yarosz would be one of the top picks, Flowers and Overlins style were both mentioned to be somewhat similar to Grebs, and Yarosz owned Overlin in their fights for what its worth, so using his fights with Overlin as somewhat of a measuring stick as to how hed do vs Flowers makes sense, I dont think it means he beats Flowers but its definitely worth mentioning

Interesting matchup, id like to hear more peoples opinions on this one
