Does anyone know if there is any fight footage of Ted 'Tiger' Lowry??? He fought Rocky Marciano twice- dropping two decisions, Joey Maxim, Roland LaStarza, Jimmy Slade, Bernie Reynolds three times, Archie Moore in 1948 dropping a decision, Lee Oma, Aaron Wade, Tiger Jack Fox and Lee Q. Murray... Surely there is at least some film of him??? Photo of Lowry losing to Marciano (insert) and striking pose- This content is protected This content is protected
I'm Rocky Marciano's nephew and Godson and remember discussing with my Uncle, Tiger Ted and how tough he was. Rocky won on decision both times which was unusual since he only had 7 decisions in his Pro carrer of 49-0. I have most of Rocky's fights on file but regretably not Tigers.
Welcome vpereira...I saw your great uncle Rocky ko Carmine Vingo at MSG in 1949. You should be proud of him v....
Thanks Burt, that outcome could have ended or at least altered Rocky's career. Thank God he made it. Our family got to be great friends with his.
vpereira, my guess is your PM folder is just about full by now! lol. Give some of us old fight fans a taste of what's out there on film of your uncle. There's not a great deal in trading circles unfortunately.
I'm actually reading the Rocky bio 'Rock of His Times' by Russell Sullivan at the moment. I'd be interested in the family's take on it vpereira? The Carmine Vingo fight is definitely one I'd love to see. Do you know if it exists or not?
Apologies for hijacking the Ted Lowry thread. As far as I'm aware I've never seen any Lowry footage on any list.
I don't think he said that there's any more film on Marciano available than what is out there. Just that he happens to have most of Rocky's filmed fights.
I read it as : I have MOST of Rocky's fights on file. It's always intrigued me how few of Marciano's fights exist on film.
