Both at their peak, I think it would be an interesting fight. For me it`s really hard to pick one. I also haven`t seen their fight films in a long time. What do you think?
I’d favor Tiger due to hand speed. I figure he’d land a lot more of the eye catching shots upstairs. Jake would get the gist that he’d have to focus on where he’d have the most success, the body. As usual, he’d be just a little too far behind. Then you factor in that he’s in with an opponent who would give absolutely no quarter to him. At any point. So he probably doesn’t win more than 4 rounds or so.
Now that I think about it. I do favor Tiger some, cuz LaMotta's legendary late spurts wouldn't be enough 2 knockout Tiger, and if he couldn't knock him out, he wouldn't win.
Good match up after some of the dross on here recently, and not an outright winner in my eyes, Mmmm for no particular rhyme or reason would favor ( ever so slightly ) Tiger, tighter defense maybe, quicker hand speed prob, like I say not easy.
One thing is for sure, this fight would go the full distance. Both guys were as tough as they come. I lean towards the vest version of Tiger but really it's a pickem fight for me.
If they fought 3 or 4 times both would have W's. Perhaps Jake's jab and IMO slightly better skillset is the difference in a series.
Great fight but a bad match for Jake. Tiger loved a come forward pressure Fighter. Have a read of what he did to Terry Downes. Brave as they come Terry never asked for a rematch either. A pretty convincing points win for he whose first name we dare not type.
Richard Tiger W15, probably 10-5 or 9-6 in rounds, no closer. Better workrate, better offense all around, and Jake just doesn’t have any way to outbox him or dissuade him.
Strongly fancy Africa’s greatest, the tiger would ravage the aggressive bull. Encouraged by seeing Gerry Cooney being safe to type in, the other week, I typed Tiger’s first name in, but still taboo, same old dots!
Probably Tiger based on what I've seen, though it should be noted Lamotta is past it for almost all his filmed fights. The Cerdan fight being the best I’ve seen of him.
