One fight couldn't possibly determine the better guy here.

This would be interesting. Id slightly favor Valdez because he was more versatile and showed that he could stand and trade with a tank if he had to. If they fought three times theyd all be close, exciting, and id favore Valdez to win two.

I agree with u good break down.
Valdez is really underrated and somewhat forgotten

    Two great middleweights 50-50

Both fought elite opposition ducked no one and look great on film

Two studs! I really like them both

Sort of an apples and oranges here. **** hit prime at a late age, Rodrigo turned pro at 16 and went thru wars prior to coming to the States in 1970. Great matchup. I just posted on the Rock-Smokin' Joe thread and this one looks similar. Once again, I want two beers and two dogs and a ringside seat for this one!

That's interesting ,I'd go the, other way, but I agree it would be a split series. I've often wondered about
    Tiger v Lamotta?

Hmmm. This is too close. It's hard to picture someone beating tiger going toe to toe but if anyone could it would be Valdez. Draw.

What film of a prime jake lamotta have you seen?

Jake was as strong and durable as any 160 whose ever stepped into the ring

Not as strong as Tiger nor did he hit as hard.
If u think different well that's ur prerogative but nothing is changing my mind here.

I doubt there was anything in it for strength.Tiger had more power.

This would be a great fight...I lean towards Tiger slightly...For two reasons. Valdez doesn't present a style that typically gives Tiger trouble. Rodrigo's punches flow, but his footwork is fairly stationary. Also Tiger showed he had the ability, and mainly the strength to deal with light heavys.

He didn't hit as hard, I'll give you that. but there is no evidence tiger was stronger. Again Lamotta was as strong as any 160lber who ever stepped foot in the ring.

What film of a prime Jake Lamotta have you seen?

The guy without 19 losses, including losses to bums. Come on now.
