You would think that with hard work and experience Tim would become a more articulate, professional and balanced commentator but its the complete opposite with him. Sadly when Tim commentates while wearing an Armani suit he makes the suit look bad instead of the other way around.
I think it might be nice if all commentators practiced the less is more policy and simply explained what's happening in the ring and not blather on endlessly about anything they can think of rather just have a moment of silence here and there.
To think i used to feel sorry for the guy after the hate he got for getting a decision over pacman in their first bout (which wasnt his fault).
I haven't really watched much these days with Timbo, but I didn't remember him being bad when he started doing it. I don't know if it's more a me thing but I often don't even think about commentators being good, because I know what I'm watching and am not looking to them for insights, so I mostly just pay attention when they seem to be uniquely on-point at calling out BS politics or predicting action, and everything else is just enjoying their peculiar personalities and goofy, corny attempts at being memorable and trademarked with everything. "Wadda in da basement!" and that sort of thing.
Sign of the times and people of these times. They think they’re bigger than the event they’re calling. Totally self absorbed. They’re almost completely divorced from what’s going in front of them - the patter is prefab, replete with attention seeking proclamations. Move back through the years and you will witness sports commentary magically improve across the board as you continue to step back through time. To think there was a time when some people bagged The Col. Bob Sheridan. The man was an ATG compared to this lot. Two of his best calls were Ali vs Foreman and Tyson vs Douglas.
Bradley is now paying for the robberies he received in his favour during his career. <Loma lands a solid 6 punch combination> <Kambosos throws a haymaker hopeful of landing that clips Lomas gloves> "Nice left from George"
