Well Bradley did fighted alot smarter. Atlas kept reminding him to not get into a slugfest with Rios, even tho Rios looked like Jabba the Hut. Atlas yelling at him actually helped Bradley stay better focused. Beautiful body work by Bradley. Of course most thought Bradley wins by decision, but no way by ko. Even a shot Rios still has a good chin, Bradley broke him down to the body. Excellent work. Now on to unification.
I disagree. He looked not as tight and bulky, perhaps a result of a different training techniques. He was more fluid, stayed in the pocket less. He had less of the I must be the macho man and take shots to give shots attitude. Atlas is helping Tim to see and use his talents.
How much smarter? Bradley still brawled and had stays on the inside much longer than Atlas would have liked. Any capable puncher would have fished and put Bradley on ***** street the way he was whaling shots on the inside. Bradley was nowhere close to fighting disciplined vs Rios, this version of Rios however had little energy and was uncapable of a sustained attack. I saw no torque or snap in any of Rios' punch attempts.
Keep things in perspective gents. After one fight I'd say Tim did well under the guidance of Atlas.... Tim still made mistakes but that's natural when attempting to adjust to knew training methods. It will take a little longer than 7 weeks and 1 fight to begin to really see instinctual techniques and fluid delivery. Some of the subtle things Tim did resonated with me because it showed Tim was attempting to make those adjustments and apply what he got in that 7 week stretch. The body work was much better for Tim based on how he positioned himself by utilizing better footwork. People are always hard on Tim but he is a great boxer who proved to have a champions heart if nothing else. His credentials are to be respected but many look for any reason to poke holes in his accomplishments.
Bradley is very good not flashey but very effective .Khan will not want to know I think he beats Brook as well.
I thought his combos were crisper and that he turned his punches over better. He didn't slap as much on his hooks Plus his balance and footwork appear better. He always bobbed and weaved and lunged but his feet tended to no always be under him resulting in injuries or wobbling. He seemed more deliberate in his movement
Which is pretty much the only fight he's fought disciplined in from start to finish. Never a prolonged exchange, and always moving to the laterals when Marquez went forward. Bradley's performance that night was a product of the respect he had for Marquez' skill and punching power coming off the Pacquiao KO. There is little doubt in my mind had Bradley fought Marquez pre-Pacquiao KO, Bradley have had any respect for Marquez' punching power and it would have resulted in him getting stopped. Unless you're much bigger and stronger, you cant fight Marquez coming at him aggressive, or you'll get disected. Bradley certainly didn't fight Marquez that way. Bradley fought disciplined that one time vs Marquez, but hasn't done it against anyone else including Manny Pacquiao.
