Tim Bradley Says"that boy ain't ready for me, man. [Laughs.] Alexander was exposed"

What is your assessment of Devon Alexander's performance against Andriy Kotelnik?

Tim Bradley: I just got done watching it. That boy ain't ready for me, man. [Laughs.] Alexander was exposed.

In what ways was he exposed?

He's vulnerable, man. He's like what I call a reaction fighter. Anything you do, then he wants to come right back with something. You'll be able to set him up for a lot of counters. All that you have to do is to punch at him, and you know something is coming back from him.

So then, it's automatic. You slip and weave and 'Wop! Wop!' counter him. From there, I don't want to give out too much information. But I just saw a lot of mistakes. He got touched a lot in that fight, man. But maybe he had an off-night, I'm not sure. But I just didn't see the greatness that they've been talking about.

So do you train for the Devon Alexander that knocked out Juan Urango, or the one who out-lasted Andriy Kotelnik?

They were the same guy, and that's what I've been trying to tell everybody. That Juan Urango is slow, and can't do nothing. Kotelnik's got decent speed, but he ain't got the foot speed that I've got. Devon was able to occasionally get out of range, but I'm far quicker than what Kotelnik is.

I throw more combinations than Kotelnik, you know? I pressure a lot better than Kotelnik. I'm ruthless in there when I get inside, you know? If Kotelnik was able to do that to him, imagine what it's going to be for him when he's in there with a guy with skills like the ones that I have.

Is Devon Alexander the fight that you want next, unequivocally, to be involved in or will you be taking one in the fall?

Yeah, right now, everything's in the works right now. I talked to my manager, Cameron Dunkin, and we're trying to make this fight happen. You know, he started to give me a little details, but I don't want to get into that. But the fight is definitely in the works right now. We're definitely trying to make this fight happen.

You know, so, I don't want to give out too much information, but it's in the works right now.

Do you believe that Devon Alexander's effort against Andriy Kotelnik takes any luster off of the magnitude of a fight between you and Alexander?

That won't be the same Devon that you saw last night, put it that way. When people get ready for Tim Bradley, for myself, I should say, they go to another level because they know that they have to. So, the night when you see Devon Alexander fight me, you're going to see the best Devon Alexander that you're ever going to see.

I think that now that I'm No. 1, I think that I have the upper hand, no doubt. As far as negotiating and stuff, I feel that I have the upper hand. Especially after this performance. I think that people were looking at this fight like 'Wow,' we were raving over Devon Alexander.

But I think that some people will feel like he lost the fight. I look at the fight right now, and I didn't score the fight. But I could say that he got hit a lot and that Kotelnik won a lot more rounds than the judges had him winning. I'm not a judge out there. But from what I saw on television, you know, maybe Devon could have pulled it off.

But it was a lot closer than some people think. I think that he lost a great number of rounds. I think that he lost the last five or six rounds, to me. But I'm not a judge. I'm a fighter just like him. He's a champion, and that's just the way that it is, man.

Are you disappointed in Devon Alexander's (pictured at far right) showing after all of the hype?

That's why you don't talk. You don't talk, because it can come back and bite you in the a** like it did last night. He bragged that he's the best in the division, and when you say something like that, everybody starts believing you. That's how the train goes. And he feels that he's the best.

Everybody last night was like, 'Oh, Devon Alexander, he's the No. 1' It seemed like they were giving him more hype and push than they were to me. And I've got more accolades than he does. But I'm not bothered by it. it's all good. Everybody has their opinion. But I know what I'm capable of doing in this next fight.

But it's going to be a great fight. The kid has no quit in him. I saw that determination that he has. His will to win is enormous. I saw a little bit of myself in there, to be honest. The kid is going to fight me for 12 hard rounds. There's a possibility that you might see the Fight of the Year.
