Tim Bradley Speaks: ''I have other interests, Khan is not in that Plan''

I'd like Khan to stick around at 140 just long enough to unify all the belts. Bradley should be stripped if he's unwilling to face Khan by year end, then hopefully Amir could fight for the WBC belt.....

 

Probably not, but they should do! More then likely just the WBC will become vacant. Holt-Matthyse could be made for the vacant WBO if Bradders get's stripped, that is on the Hopkins-Dawson undercard.

its baffling really. does bradley actually think that he is some kind of big deal? his "fans" could get a minibus to his fights together, he doesn't have exciting ko power and he has almost zero "star power".

he brings very little to a pacquaio / mayweather fight other than an "0".

 

Bradley’s been out of contact while waiting for his child to be born. When did he give this interview? His manager was speaking on Ring TV saying that they need to clear up their legal issues before looking at any fights.

I think the facts are clear though – Bradley wants to maximise his earnings while he can. He’s probably aware that without a belt he has no bargaining power. No fanbase, no powerbroker, no real reward for a lot of risk.

If he loses to Khan, he’s out of the running for any big fights. That $1m guarantee HBO have for him will be true whether he fights Khan or whoever. And if he takes the Khan fight after making his money, well he’ll make another big payday.

Meanwhile, if he fights Mayweather or Pacquiao he’ll make three times that sum, most likely.

I don’t like fighters choosing money over defining fights, but I do understand it. And I think this interview’s a little opportune – especially since I’ve not seen it timestamped or attributed anywhere online.

Same here....a shame because i quite liked bradley. I really dont get why he thinks hes in line for a shot at either floyd or manny. Most of their recent opponents have had some kind of fanbase to make the fights worthwhile financially - something bradley is lacking. HBO should just say fight khan or dont appear on our shows.

 

It's Bradley's attitude that worries me. I think we all recognise this fight would be very close and tough to call, both men have good reasons to believe they will win. But for Bradley to didmiss it through fear of losing and losing his '0' just for a potential match up with either Pacquiao/Mayweather doesn't sit well with me.

And the thing is, it's no given at all he will fight either of them. What if either Ortiz or Marquez win, there goes his chance straight away. Or if Mayweather and Pacquiao finally agree to fight? It seems too big a risk to me and I hope the decision comes back to haunt. For all of Khan's faults, and there's many imo, I much prefer his attitude of earning a fight with either of them 2 by keeping active and fighting contenders

 

Mr Suleiman needs to get off his ass and do what only he can, make Khan vs Morales a fight for the WBC belt lol I'm sure Mr Capone, ODLH etc can pull some mexican strings!
