So he says Benavidez gets hit too much and will be a lot easier for Canelo than the Plant fight but somehow this is more legit.

Look we all prefer Benavidez over Makawhat'shisname but don't be dishonest and claim that somehow Canelo/Benavidez is "more legit".

That's mainly because most people have never heard of Makabu and have never really looked at his resume or compared the two techically or stylistically. Makabu has fought and beaten much better fighters than Benavidez. Bradley told on himself by saying that Benavidez gets hit too much. How can Tim complain about that fight not even happen when in the same breath he's expressing his doubts about Benavidez. Benavidez is a young kid of only 24 years old with plenty of time to grow, so Canelo has plenty of time to fight him. Makabu just turned 34 on Nov 8th, he's at a good age to make this fight happen now. Just comparing Benavidez to Makabu, Makabu looks a lot more highly skilled and technical than Benavidez. Makabu gives angles, uses upper body movement etc. Benavidez is very basic in comparison. And after watching some of Makabu's fights, I'm impressed by his speed. Like a lot of people think of Cruiserweights as slow compared to the lower weights. Makabu doesn't fit that mold, he's like a throwback to the golden age of Cruiserweight like when the limit was 190 lb. He has a very awkward and effective southpaw jab that will give Canelo much more of a chess match than Benavidez. And if you doubt anything I'm saying take a look at like Makabu's recent fights like his performance against Papin.

He has a very dangerous straight left hand like the one that dropped Bellew in the 1st round he made Bellew do a backflip on the canvas when he knocked him down. Just comparing the two Makabu is fighting at a much higher level of technical skill than Benavidez and it's not even close. Makabu's wins over previouly unbeatens Papin and Cieslak is far better than any of the guys Benavidez fought. Makabu also has a win over Dmytro Kucher who went on to retire Enzo Maccarinelli by KOing him in Round 1 and who went the distance against Marco Huck. Kucher, Papin and Cieslak are the only fighters to ever go the distance against Makabu. Makabu also has a TKO win over the legendary Glen Johnson.

    i am pointing out
That they are human, just like Canelo.
They have the option to roll the dice either against each other or against bigger men like Canelo.

They all have a lot to lose.
But what if they win… & keep winning?
While continuing to be great 4-5 times a year?

There is no reason they can’t when he is.

I am surprised so many people have never heard of Makabu. He has been a name at Cruiser for ages.

There are too many variables to use that as an example.

    1. Is it possible for them to gain that type of weight?
    2. They are already in the twilight of thier careers.
Do you want to make pretty decent money or considerably less without the title?
    3. Would the organizations even allow it? Would they not have to move up and fight a couple of contenders first?
    4. Neither one are a mainstream draw. Their promoters would basically lose money trying to lure a cruiserweight champion in to fight them.

Canelo can fight basically whoever he wants and its an instant mega fight. That's not the case with 90% of the boxers today. They have to follow a script.

well I’m seeing a lot of excuses & while
I realize not everybody can be Roy Jones , Manny Paquiao or Canelo.

it should t stop them from trying.

That being said if they can’t be more like Canelo … then they should fight each other
Instead of waiting & hoping Canelo comes up or down in weight & picks them to fight for a massive payday.

repeat what I just typed. … Canelo is 5’8”!!
(in heels). Let that sink in.

    Bivol & Beterbiev,
    Charlo , Benavides & Andrade
They should make their own legacies …
Fight each other … while they wait.

Did you see the face off? Makuboo is only an inch or two taller than Canelo. Why do you think he picked the guy?

And Tony Bellew (!) is the only recognizable person on his record. And Bellew knocked him out in 3 rounds. THAT'S why the vast majority of fans don't know him.

    True.

There are a lot more bigger names than makabu near his weight class.

There's a reason why they chose this fight. Dont let the getting another belt from a different weight class fool you.

You've never heard of Glen Johnson? Remember that guy who knocked RJJ spark out. Did you know that Makabu and Bernard Hopkins are the only two fighters to ever stop Glengoffe.

Please! Hope this cherry pick goes horribly wrong for Canelo. Like a 1st round knockout, unconcious for 5 minutes, type stoppage. That'll teach him.
