No. Actually this might be a tough scrap for Canelo, but it is the weakest pick of the cruiser champs. That is what makes it a cherry pick. Never the less, a pretty impressive accomplishment if he wins. Personally I'd like to see him fight Benavidez, Bivol and Beterbiev. In all honesty, I think that would do more for his legacy than getting a belt in his 5th weight. You may feel differently. I can respect that opinion. Like I said, a pretty impressive accomplishment.

Theoretically Going to Cruiserweight now, makes the most sense, IF he's going to do that.
Being early 30s he can probably manage the weight change better than if he fights 3 more fights @175-168 and then goes up.

I think it's pretty obvious he's not going to stay at cruiserweight, so he's gotta give himself as much time as possible to get back down after.

Personally I think it might be a bit to far. But it's Canelo so who knows.

    That is desperate

He was 45 with 18 losses by that time .. & fighting in a new division he'd never fought at before LMAO.. and if I remember rightly Johnson was stopped on his feet anyway… Still wasn't knocked out.. embarrassing for you to use this example

Golovkin claimed to fight between 154-168.

    He lied.

    Canelo doesn't talk, he does.

    And he picks top fighters.

154, fought the best three JrMWs
160, fought the top, and the #2
    168, cleaned out the division
    175, beat #3

Fighters like Golovkin had the opportunity to fight anyone between 154-168, but chose to play it safe.

As much as Bradley is being ignorant with his comments towards Mak a boo lol

He has a point, its going for greatness for sure esp on paper but each weight jump in recent years from Canelo is designed to take a belt from the weakest champ in each division

Interesting to watch never the less

Doesn't that mean something though? Glengoffe has lost a lot of decisions throughout his career but actually stopping the man has proven to be a very difficult task for anyone. Makabu managed to do it, I'm sorry but that means something. It shows that the guy can punch, stopping a legend like Glengoffe is a definite feather in Ilunga's cap.

    Golovkin #1
    Saunders, Smith, Plant #1, 2, and 3
    Kovalev #3

Who is doing more than Canelo?

Well Bradley certainly hasn't. How good do you rate Makabu? Do any favorite performances of his stand out to you?

Pacquiao fought the weakest LW champ and bailed out, he fought a shot fighter at a catchweight for JrMW.

Roy Jones Jr. fough John Ruiz instead of Klitschko.

Lomachenko fought Roman Martinez instead of Berchelt.
