Sadam Ali, has followed Leonard Bundu, Amir Khan, Tim Bradley himself, Shawn Porter and Devon Alexander and withdrew from the right to fight for the position to become the mandatory to The Special One's IBF title. Instead Ali has opted to go the WBO route and become mando to Bradley's WBO title. Arum said last week that Bradley v Ali was not sellable to HBO, however after HBO wasn't willing to pay what HBO wanted for Bradley v Rios (after Rios also withdrew from the chance to face Brook), it's possible that this might be considered. If it goes ahead, who wins and how?
Bradley's best days might be behind him, but Ali is somewhat of a hype job. Bradley comfortably on points.
Unfortunately Bradley has beat himself already by re-signing with Top Rank. Ali will be the last named opponent between Top Rank and Golden Boy that he can even fight. Al Haymon could still save his career if he leaves though.
Or he could join Matchroom (who have a relationship with Top Rank, Golden Boy and Al Haymon) and be stable mates with The Special One
Because he has the deepest stable. Business is business. Bradley has a big ass family to feed out there in the desert. Haymon has the fighters, the TV contracts and most importantly the "MONEY". Arum no longer has the power he used to. It's like fighters who sign with Don King at this point, you are in a lose-lose situation.
Screw glass chinned Arum and glass chinned Haymon Sign with iron chinned Eddie Hearn. :deal But that fact is Bradley still does make decent money because of Arum's relationship with HBO. He got $2m for the Chaves fight, and $1.5 for the Vargas fight.
Yeah...and that's kind of chump change for someone who has headlined two PPV fights with Pac and holds wins over Pac* and Marquez. He should've left Top Rank at the first opportunity. Vargas? Sadam Ali? I don't want to think too much on the man's pockets. But, it seems he should have bigger paydays to show for all the hard work. He's an exciting fighter and would beat most if not all the top young fighters Haymon has to offer and with more exposure and for a bigger check.
:conf Bradley still not a particularly big draw and for the opponents he was facing (Chaves and Vargas) that's decent money.
Maybe but Bradley needs to stop trying to put so much power in each punch. Sometimes he looks like as less powerful version of Jean Pascal.
That's kind of my point though. He's been in big fights and did very well. He's not being promoted right and being kept from the high caliber young fighters who are getting better exposure, due to his promotional affiliations. Top Tank had 0 to offer him except Pac. He could/should be doing better than "decent".
He did fight on the same night against Chaves as Khan did v Alexander. I would say Khan is probably a bigger draw (and had the better know opponent) yet Bradley earned over a million more
I had the same thought tonight, I literally just got finished rewatching Pascal Vs. Gonzalez about 20 minutes ago.
