At the Cosmopolitan in Vegas. Its a good opponent for Bradley considering that both fighters are coming off of defeats. Chaves lost to Brandon Rios last August by a 9th round disqualification in a fight that Chaves was winning at the time referee Vic Drakulitch halted it due to him seeing Chaves throw an elbow. :bbb:bbb
I would be legitimately excited for this fight if tim bradley was fighting the diego chaves that showed so much in his valiant loss to keith thurman, but I fear bradley is not.
Bradley has blow up. I mean seriously blown up. Bradley will be loosing a lot of weight again, just like he did before Provodnikov.
Feel like a complete creep because the first thing that crossed my mind when I read Chaves is fighting is whether that lovely manager of his will make an appearance again.
Would I rather see Timmy fight someone else? Sure I would, but the reality is no elites are out there for him to fight in December. Top Rank owes him a fight and Chaves fits the bill. And Chaves is worthy to fight him, he is no pushover. He gave Thurman all he could handle and outside of the dirty fighting was giving Rios quite the challenge. Not a bad fight at all considering the circumstances. If Arum really wanted to give Timmy a soft touch he would have scheduled Mike Jones.
I wish Bradley wasn't signed with Top Rank. We'd actually be able to get some high quality match ups for him...
Chaves is not in Bradley's league Bradley by clear decision. The guy has arguably fought the hardest schedule in his past four fights deserves an easier fight. He has fought Manny (2x), Ruslan and Marquez. Just like I said on a Lomachenko thread …. there are some guys who definitely should get a pass for taking an “easy” fight. Canelo has fought Trout, Mayweather, Angulo and Lara consecutively. He deserves to take an “easy” fight against Clottey, just like Lomachenko should be since he has fought Salido and Russell Jr. Chaves is a decent fighter. He is more of a slugger/brawler converted boxer in the Rios fight (sort of how Alvarado tried to fight in the first fight, and how he did in the second). He used the blueprint to beat Rios (boxing him) and still could not even definitively beat him. In fact, I had Rios on top 75-74 at the time of the DQ. Chavez would be the aggressor in the Bradley fight, and Bradley is a guy who is sucked into a brawl pretty easily. Even if that did happen, I still pick Bradley (even though he does not punch hard, he is crafty on the inside and has a great chin), however it might be closer.
Isn't there talk of Korobov/Lee being on the undercard too? That would make for an exciting night of fights.
Bradley gonna win this **** like 9-3 bad matchup for chaves, although he isn't in the same stratosphere skill wise as Bad Ass Tim Bradley
